Taxi to El Cafe cost?

Hubby & I would like to go by horseback to Salto El Limon. Wondering the average cost of a taxi from Samana to El Cafe where we would use Parada Romona y Basilio. Also would love any stories from those that have done this before!

From what I've read here and elsewhere, there should be guaguas (minivans or pickup trucks) that will run up and down the road to El Cafe. I'm expecting the cost to be somewhere around $2 per person each way. Would be a great introduction to the local culture and kind of adventurous at the same time. I'd be curious to hear what the cab rate would be as well, and how prevalent the cabs would be on the way back.
