Help With Onboard Booking Credit ???

We know that if you book another cruise while cruising,you get a "credit" applied to the booking you made for X amount of dollars, depending on the length of the cruise. But our question is this... What if you already have another cruise booked (before sailing), can you get the credit applied to that booking? Is this something the loyalty ambassador can or will do? Thanks in advance!

If I understand your question, you want credit applied to a cruise you already have booked? I don't think they will do that. The on-board credit is an incentive to book right then and there. It never hurts to ask, but don't be disappointed if the answer is no.

We phoned RCL to explain we were booked on a cruise in January 2005 and asked if we booked another cruise now instead of waiting untill we were on board could we have the credit applied to the new booking.

The answer came back that this was ok so we went ahead, however when we asked to transfer the booking to our TA they took the credit away. :mad:

No reason was given as to why this was done.

Yes we did. The TA did give us a £550 ($960) discount which more than made up for the loss from RCL.

If we had booked on board we would have been able to transfer the booking without losing the onboard credit.

You can also "re-book" the cruise onboard & then cancell the orignally booking when you get home. It does tie up a 2nd deposit usually and the price may be higher than when you booked orignally. You might want to double check with your TA also to see if they have a problem doing this. We were going to do this for our Panama Canal cruise for April while on the Serenade this week, but the price had gone up so much it cancelled out the $200 shipboard credit.
