Rare skyking Posted November 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2008 Hello All, I am very excited to be going on my first Cunard voyage in 2 weeks. I am an experienced cruiser, but full of questions: 1. What's the best way to get from LGA to the pier, and what is the cost 2. Is there a less formal place to dine? Or is room service the best alternative 3. Is resort style clothing ok during sea days? I'm sure I will come up with many more questions, when I do I will post them here. Thanks, Tim
Blazerboy Posted November 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2008 Quickly: 1. XYZ Limo. (718) 768-7333 Cost? Not sure. This is the car service I use in NY for business. 2. I'll let the more experienced answer this. I don't let a tux or suit stand between me and a good meal! And my waist shows it.:D 3. Yes. Enjoy. Rare skyking Posted November 7, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 7, 2008 ok thought of another: 1. Are u allowed to carry on a bottle of wine for in room consumption? If so what's the limit? Thanks
Blazerboy Posted November 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2008 That's an easy one. Yes. Limit is really about 'reasonableness' and you shouldn't have a problem with one or two. You can even give a bottle to the sommellier and they'll serve it to you in the dining room, and charge corkage ($15 on QE2 last month) A.-

DGF Posted November 8, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2008 ok thought of another: 1. Are u allowed to carry on a bottle of wine for in room consumption? If so what's the limit? Thanks Stated policy was one bottle of wine and one bottle of champagne per person. We were in Grill Class and frankly packed in our luggage what we wanted and encountered no problem drinking in our cabin
Blazerboy Posted November 8, 2008 #9 Share Posted November 8, 2008 We actually brought half a case, and encountered no problems...we did take it all to the dining room and paid corkage, but that was our choice. Andrew
