bbrad8 Posted April 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Traysee, We have not been on the Mariner, however we were on the Voyager 3/2000 (sister ship) in a category H with 4 adults. The adults were including 18 and 20 yr olds (our kids). Although it can be done, it is quite compact. Would suggest you be "close" friends or you will be by the end of the cruise! There is plenty of storage to accomodate your group, however the floor space is limited. If you are traveling with 2 women, as we did, the bathroom time will also be at a premium. As far as location, we were on the Starboard side near the Vault (called the Dragon's Lair on Mariner). This was a great location. It is a convenient location and has very little traffic. The entrance to the club is on deck 4 and we were never bothered by noise etc. The only disadvantage is you must go up or down to go anywhere (good exercise) . Hope this helps. pcur Posted April 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I agree: we've had Cat H on deck 3 for our last 3 cruises. It's a standard room with a big window. We like it for the view, and not having to pay more for the balcony. 3 adults is a push, unless you don't bring a lot of clothes. One male poster said he used the men's shower in the spa when he was travelling with his wife and multiple daughters in one cabin. That might help you. Deck 3 is a good location, I agree. If you're on the ground floor of the dining room, it's a short walk to get there and to the other Deck 4 and 5 shops, casino, etc. We like the walking, too, for the exercise. TRAYSEE Posted April 18, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Is there a couch or just chair in the category H? Anyone know? Also have heard you can get upgrades at the port if available... is this true as well? thanks so much for all the info. pcur Posted April 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Our Cat H's have not been on the Mariner, but I assume they're all pretty much the same. There is a loveseat in the cabin that seats two people. Upgrades are sometimes available at the pier. Go to the Pier Coordinator after you check in. If they say there are none available, check again at the purser's desk later, too. Peggy - RCI since 1973
Nancyquilts Posted April 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2004 We've never had any luck getting an upgrade at the pier or elsewhere, but I wish you better fortune.
