If you've sailed in an A3 Courtyard villa...sell me on it, over an AB penthouse!

The 2nd bedroom in the AB and the A3 is basically an inside cabin.

Not quite, but if you include the hall space they are about the same area.

Having not stayed in one(AB,A3) before but being very familiar with the insides we concluded that, due to the compact nature of the second room, with 3/4/5 adults an A3 with the resulting extra space/facilities of the courtyard is a better option over AB allthough mutliple AE,AC,AD would be a better option for 4 adults than the AB if the prices were OK.

As it happens due to the UK special pricing on the Jade winter cruises the A3s were cheaper than the ABs anyway.

That special pricing extends to Easter :D We will be 3 adults plus one 13 year old who keeps growing up the way

I think you lose the square footage in small ways around the room. In the AB the master suite TV cabinet is at an angle and seems to have more cupboard space. In the A3 ours was straight.

In essence NOTHING was missing and all was fabulous in both cabins

We had an AB on Jade in June and just got home from an A3 on the Pearl....I have to say there is NO square footage difference in those two suites! We LOVED them both. The courtyard was super fun and the deck 15 observation deck is so wonderful too! Swam that resistance pool and enjoyed a cocktail in the atrium. Had lunch there one day too. In the AB we just spent more time doing activities. More relaxing in the A3.
