Danger on Stone Island Beach

When we were on Stone Island last week we found several of these seashells on the beach and know it would be a very nasty injury if anyone were to step on one of these.....we were lucky to see them before we stepped.....just wanted to post this so everyone could be aware of these while walking on the beach.

what was you overall impression of stone island ? Were you on a tour or??? Please give us fellow cruisers a report on what to expect should we choose to go there on an excursion. Thanks in advance for your report.....

We went over on our own....left out of the cruise terminal and walk to the water taxi's...a couple or three blocks and past the armed guard tower and down a dirt road about 100 yds.......the beach is really wide and the water a little murky until you get out past the breaks and then is is really good, only murky because of the sand it stirs up.....there are several little beach bars and restuarants all along the beach and the one read about the most here on the boards is Victors....we went there and drank Pacifico beer and ate shrimp, both very good....there are way too many peddlers out there trying to sell their goods and that was about the only thing we didn't like.....otherwise it was a very nice and enjoyable day for us......I do have pictures of Stone Island in the webshots link in my signature.
