NeilD Posted November 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2008 Going to Riu Caribe in Cancun. When they say 'domestic and imported liquor' do they mean Coors Light, Bud and other American Beers?
bigwally Posted November 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2008 I think it rather depends on what the resort offers. Have you tried to check? We just got back from an AI in Playa and the beer offerings were Dos Equis lager, Tecate, Sol, and Coors light. Remember, domestic in Mexico means Mexican. I was even suprised to see that they offered the Coors. However, I'm truly a darker beer type fella, so I was mightly dissapointed (although I knew from research prior to arriving that I would be). Ended up doing a WalMart run for a private stash of Leon in the end! Watch out for limited wine offerings too. We were limited to a handful of Mexican and Spanish "house wines", where the resort's wine list was actually quite extensive. Anything beyond the house wines was quite expensive, even offerings from countries like Chile and Australia that would typically not be.

TheVegasMan Posted January 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Liquor is not beer. Liquor is rum, vodka, tequila etc. Photo of in room liquor dispenser: http://cancun-hotels.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotos-g150807-d185322-w2-Riu_Caribe-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html#18927240 Bar photo: http://cancun-hotels.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotos-g150807-d185322-w3-Riu_Caribe-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html#18874319 From the reviews on www.tripadvisor.com the only beer they have is Corona.
