I had an assigned room on deck 7 for a category 5 which has the veranda on the Magic. I was on a waiting list for a category 9. There was now a 9 available so I had them change my reservation thus saving about $1,520 for the week. But they said they can't assign a room yet and I guess the deck will be deck 2. Why don't they have a room to assign? Is deck 2 ok or noisy? Is there a chance I may be upgraded anyway? I had the opportunity to choose a category 8 but for $500 more I found that the only difference was that you'd be on a higher deck - the room is the same size. Any thoughts?

Cat. 9s are mostly on Deck 2 with a few on Deck 1. The difference on Deck 1 is that those rooms have two smaller porthole rather than the one LARGE porthole window on the Deck 2 Cat. 9s.

I actually think that Deck 2 is one of the QUIETEST decks of all, although there are a few supposedly "noisy" rooms.

There is a chance you could get upgraded to a Cat. 8, but even if you don't I wouldn't worry about a Cat. 9.
