jay1stTimer Posted November 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2008 Hiya, I'm hoping someone maybe able to tell me what the situation is with plug sockets and power on the destiny, do they take uk plugs if not what adaptor do I need? Thanks ahead, Jay
smiffy1951 Posted November 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2008 Hi Jay1stTimer:) On the Destiny you need a 2 pin American Style Plug. They do not have UK plug sockets. I'm not sure of the voltage/power but if you want to charge up a mobile you need to do it almost every day to keep it going. Hope this helps. eaststandbaggie Posted November 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Hi Jay1stTimer, As Smiffy says it is a 2 flat pin American socket, the voltage is 110v. If you check your mobile/camera chargers most are 110v-240v anyway and will be ok. However straighteners etc arent. You will either have to buy a step down transformer or buy multi voltage straighteners etc. We got a set of straighteners for about £14 from Argos which were made for travelling and they worked great. hope this helps Chris
tt2505 Posted November 13, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Is it the same power sockets for the Celebration?
eaststandbaggie Posted November 13, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Did you all spot the delibrate mistake, it is of course a step up transformer that you need from 110 up to 240.
kruzseeka Posted November 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I think we had both types of socket on the Celebration. We used a European 2-pin (round) adapter and an American 2-pin flat adapter. It was useful as we could use both at the same time.

NESSIE Posted November 20, 2008 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2008 Jay1st timer, I had no problems using my straighteners on the destiny, but my own hairdryer was useless the one in the cabin was fine appart from having to keep your finger on the switch. GeoffH Posted March 1, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 1, 2009 There are 230v sockets in the corridors outside the cabins (high up towards the ceiling). Seen many a lady stood outside their cabin using their straighteners.;)
