Zihuatenaho/Ixapta learn to SCUBA- how is the diving?

Any of ever done this? Just curious as to how the day goes? For anyone who has ever been diving here- how is it? I have always wanted to try SCUBA... so we booked this- but after reading how bad snorkiling is in the MR I am worried that there might not be much to see/ lots of jelly fish?

Thanks for any info!

We just got back and I can tell you that the snorkeling in Mexican Riviera was not great. The photos came out okay, better than I thought they would, but it was just okay. In Acapulco, what we have come to understand, the water is kind of gross. It looks beautiful, but with all of the fishing boats and industry all around, it is kind of yucky in the water. Ixtapa is where we snorkled, and it was cloudy water. We saw more fish at the water's edge than in the water far out! And Manzanillo is very industrial. I am sure there must be good places to go, but we did not choose to snorkel there. Enjoy your trip anyway and save the scuba for something great like Cancun or Hawaii! Mexico is beautiful right now!
