DanJ Posted November 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2008 Yes, but Princess charges a 3% surcharge. There is also an ATM in the casino, but I don't know what the fee is for that.
Sandytoes Posted November 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2008 You can charge casino credits to your end of voyage bill up to $1,500 per day to a maximum of $15,000 per voyage. A 3% surcharge will apply at the cashier or at the tables, there is no charge at the slot machines. You can download funds from your Cruise Card for credits to play at any slot machine hosting the Slot Master system. All ships have Cashout except the Sun, Dawn, Sea, Tahitian, Royal, Pacific, and Sapphire. If you are really desperate there are ATMs are on all ships except the Dawn, Pacifica, Royal, Sea, Sun and Tahitian Princess. Or, you can cash a check at the casino cashier. Transaction fees apply. NeurosurgeryNP Posted November 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2008 We got cash from the slot machines, played some and then wound up cashing out with the cashier - at no cost. Then what we didn't use at the slots, we had the rest as cash. That is how you can get around it for small amounts of cash.

Just call Princess and tell them to X amount of $$ on your credit card. Vouchers will we waiting for you on board and you can cash them w/o fees at the casino cage. You need not spend the money in the casino, though that is what they'd like you to do. :D

beentravelin Posted November 17, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 17, 2008 What does "cashout" mean? Okay, say you charge $100 dollars on your room account on a slot machine. Than you spend sayy $20. You simply hit the cashout button on the slot machine and it will spit a ticket out at you for $80 dollars which you can cash at the casino teller. Voila! Cash in pocket. However I believe you will be charged for a cash advance on your card which can be at a higher interest rate. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. NorcalGuy Posted November 17, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 17, 2008 there is no charge at the slot machines. Thanks Sanytoes! I wasn't aware the 3 percent didn't apply to the slots. I don't gamble enough for that to make a big difference, but others in my party will appreciate being informed.
Sandytoes Posted November 18, 2008 #9 Share Posted November 18, 2008 What does "cashout" mean? Cash Out is a one-of-a-kind system found on select Princess cruise ships. This enables guests to access funds from their on board accounts and play in the casino without using cash. Play your favorite slots using Cash Out from your on board account card. However I believe you will be charged for a cash advance on your card which can be at a higher interest rate. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Just a little bit different on both counts. First of all, Princess slots don't spit out any tickeets. You can insert your cruise card and add your winnings to your casino bank held on your sail and sign card if you wish. (of coarse it takes a few minutes or less to set that up right at the machine first). Then if you want to collect the money you can just take your cruise card to the cage and they will cash it out for you. Casino cash, whether you get it from the slots or cash at the cage is not charged to your credit card as a cash advance, but as a charge. (slot cash does not cost you 3% extra but cash at the casino cage will). So, your credit card does not charge those terrible interest rates for a cash advance. You'll find the process of using your cruise card as your casino bank very simple and it only will take a few minutes to set up (they will assist you if you need help). Enjoy and Good Luck, win a bunch. ;)
