Royal Caribbean vs Norwegian

Isnt that a drag ? I was also displeased when we took an RCl cruise . I moned a bit to the front desk and they told me to just buy it ashore and bring it on in the next port , so I did . I was prepared to tell the xray guy what the front desk said but it never came up ..;)

Okay---I'am going to try that and see if it works for me!!HA:D If not I guess I just pick it up on my way off the ship. So now I will have to spend alot of time in the CL. I have read that it's really crowded most the time. Well it will be a new experience with RCI. We're also use to getting free drinks in the casino as we book our cruise through NCL CAS. Actually it sounds like we drink alot---NOT just party hardy.;)

I just found our one thing already that has a strike aganist RCI---No BAR SET-UP. :( We do alot of entertaining in our suite and this was a bummer that you can't have any liquor bottles in your cabin to mix your own drinks. Wine is allowed, that's it! I can't imagine going down to a lounge and having to bring drinks back to the cabin to enjoy on the balcony. Will room service deliver???;)

Post this to the RCI board since it has been almost three years since my last cruise with them, but they use to allow you to buy bottles of booze in the shops onboard and you could pay an in-room consumption fee and take the bottle with you. Unless they ended this, it use to be much more affordable then a bar setup.

It has been over 3 years since I was on them also, but yes they ended that. I read it here at CC. The RCI board does have several threads over there about how to sucessfully smuggle the booze. Perhaps RCI should not have ended that policy. I think they are losing bucks instead of gaining bucks as they hoped, by ending that policy.

I just retruned from the Pearl after my last 2 cruises on RCCL AOS and Serenade of the Seas (9 total). Based on the entertainment, number of activities, service, and food, I would recommend Royal Carribeean over NCL to my friends and family. Just my opinion. I'd suggest Celebrity over either cruise line.

Maddog I might would cruise Serenade of the Seas since that is a radience class ship, but Adventure of the seas is the sister ship to Mariner of the Seas, and I found the Pearl much nicer then MOS.

One thing for sure and I agree with you, Celebrity is the best of the 3 lines. But you know when I priced out this cruise, the Solstice was $500 per person more for the same week. There was a great price on the Constellation, about the same per day as the Pearl, but it left on the 21st and returned Dec. 1st. My daugher only had Thanksgivng week off from work, she works in the school system, and as we wanted to go as a family, we picked the Pearl.

We had a good time and I would cruise NCL again-but RCI's monster ships no way.
