gargoyle999 Posted November 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2008 We are sailing on our 1st Princess cruise in 10 days and I have a question about our cabin. Are you able to get into your cabin right after you board? I would like to be able to drop off our carry on items then go eat, explore, buy coffee card, etc. Can you drop off items right away if you get on early (we're going to take the earliest shuttle available from the Crowne Plaza) or is there a certain time before which you are not allowed access? chrysalis Posted November 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2008 That is one of the nice things about Princess.....you can access your cabin as soon as you board.
rjack22 Posted November 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2008 At stated above, you can go to your cabin upon boarding and do whatever you want. You can unpack if you want. You do not have to vacate your cabin after dropping off your things.

This is not Royal Caribbean who doesn't allow access and shuts and guards their fire doors so you can't sneak in. They have a set time (usually somewhere between 1:00 and 2:00 PM) and they don't open one second sooner. Once you're on a Princess ship, you can go straight to your cabin, drop your things and do what you like.
gargoyle999 Posted November 19, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Well that is neat. When I went on Carnival a couple years ago the rooms were blocked off I think until I certain time. I don't remember what we did with any carry-on stuff. Maybe we didn't carry on too much as I don't remember lugging it all around. Well anyway, I'm taking this cruise next week and a Carnival cruise in Feb so I can compare and contrast the two fairly close together. +1 for Princess! :)
City_Woman Posted November 19, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2008 We were onboard the Island before 1pm and headed to our cabin. Met our cabin steward who kindly asked us if we could come back at 1pm and suggested that the buffet was open if we would like to have lunch. We we happy to oblige. Got to drop our stuff and off we went. Judy
