Kim Posted November 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2004 Does anyone know of this store and whether it is centrally located on the main shopping street? Is this a good place to be dropped off by taxi to shop? Any idea what the taxi should cost? Its nice to know where to have them drop you rather than going where they want to take you. NewCruzer1 Posted November 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2004 See here for an interactive map: http://www.loscincosoles.com/loscincosoles/locations.htm There are two Los Cinco Soles stores -- one downtown and the other in the shopping area at the foot of the Puerta Maya pier, prominently used by Carnival. bruce-r Posted November 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2004 ...... one downtown and the other in the shopping area at the foot of the Puerta Maya pier, prominently used by Carnival. Princess also docks at this pier. It is the southern most cruise dock.
NewCruzer1 Posted November 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2004 bruce-r is correct. Princess is owned by Carnival -- sorry I didn't make it clear that I meant ALL Carnival Corp. ships.

LOVE this store! It's not too bad a walk from the pier, especially as it's along the waterfront, but if you prefer go for the taxi, they price things by zones. The pier & the store are both in the downtown zone. According to the 2002 Published Cozumel Taxi Fares, it should be about 14 pesos or about $1.25 .... couldn't find a new version of the rates than 2002 .... so maybe they haven't changed .... CozSally Posted November 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 8, 2004 From the Punta Langosta pier you can walk to Cinco Soles, although it's about 10 blocks. Otherwise a taxi will charge you $4 for up to 4 passengers. Many apologies, but the published rates do not apply when you catch a cab from a pier. From Puerta Maya or the International pier, expect to pay $6 for a taxi to Cinco Soles.
98Charlie Posted November 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 8, 2004 Kim, the taxi fare is well worth the ride to Los Cinco Soles. DH and I shop there each time we're in Cozumel and looking forward to our next Cozumel stop later this month. Store carries quality vanilla at a great price that's sold in plastic bottles. We buy most of our silver there - quality .925 pieces - store seems to have a sale on jewerly all of the time (this is one store where you can't bargain for lower prices listed but you can trust their jewelry for quality.) Store also carries a huge variety of souvenir type items, Mexican clothing and linens, tequila, spices, etc. And a must do while there is to stop in the shop's courtyard restaurant, Pancho's Backyard. A live marimba band will entertain you while you munch on fresh tortilla chips and great quacamole and salsa. Lunch and dinner prices are very reasonable and the margarittas are very large and very, very good. Dianne
solita Posted November 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2004 They have an additional clothing store at Puerta Maya too. It is located across the courtyard area from their anchor store there. It also has jewelry. And at Punta Langosta, they have a smaller store. It is upstairs located right in the middle of the 2 shopping aisles. It does not have a name on it but is same store. TMM is the only pier where there is no location.
