Chocolate Buffet?

Chocoholic buffet not worth your time if you enjoy good chocolates.

Great if you enjoy chocolate cakes:-) Enjoy your cruise:)

Who doesn't like chocolate cake:confused:. Just kidding. I've seen on a couple of threads that if by chance you're in a suite, you can tell the concierge that you're interested in the chocolate buffet and they'll set it up for you to go a 1/2 hour prior to it opening so you can take pictures of it while it is still untouched. Can't confirm that to actually be the case myself though.

It was so neat to see but the greed was a real turn off. People coming back to their table with their plates piled high withn more than they could ever finish. Such waste. why not get a little an return for more if needed? I think those pretty little Filipino girls with those perfect petite bodies must just laugh at the fat and greedy Westerners sometimes. I know I did.

We just returned from the Majesty. Not sure what all the fuss is about with the chocolate buffet; we see better desserts at our local Chinese restaurant. It was such a shame seeing people PILE their plates so high and then just leaving most of it behind. We went in just to see what was going on but I couldn't wait to get out of there.

I can confirm it. The concierge should leave a letter, say by Noon at the latest on the day of the buffet. If you haven't heard from your concierge by that time, I would track him/her down and find out the skinny.

GOD I hate to agree with you on this, but it is embarrassing sometimes the plates you see people pile up. Don't get me wrong, if you are going to eat it all, go for it. I even feel bad at a buffet when I put a little bit on my plate of different things I want to try and end up leaving half the plate because I don't like whatever it is I put on there (I'm not a big fan of the buffet). However, I do have to say I LOVED the buffet on the Pearl and almost without exception, ate every thing I put on my plate.

LOL.. normal size.. honestly, you would be surprised if you met me, then saw how little I actually eat, for a guy my size.. I'm a big guy, 300lbs (have lost almost 70 in the last 14 months with weight watchers), but before that I was even bigger, however back in the gay 90's I had gastric bypass surgery and lost over 200lbs. YES.. I was 500+, so I'm still a work in progress. 8-)

The gay 90's!!! ROFLMAO!!!!:D So we are now in the flamboyant 2000's????:p And FYI it was that tiny Japanese guy who kept winning that eating contest on TV, remember? He put all the big fellas to shame- LOL!!! Like me. I can seriously pack it away. I eat more than my hubby. When I am not cruising, I am about 140 or so. But yet my appetite can truly ASTONISH! Good for you, though. Keep losing it- you can do it!!!:)

Yes, if you are in a suite, the concierge will take you down earlier to take pictures.

However, that does not eliminate the "hogs" who leave their many "leftovers" outside their cabin doors...all night...not pleasant to view when walking back to your cabin/suite :-(

People...Keep your own plates in your own cabin/suite until the AM ;)

I don't care if people want to make pigs of themselves, until it affects me.

There have been a couple of times I've wanted to try something, but the item was no longer available. Okay, no problem... until I see what I was wanting sitting on plates left by people that only took a bite of the food and sometimes didn't even try it at all.

realistically they should make the pieces very tiny so you can have 1 to 2 bites (share) adn try everything. I hate it when everything is in a ginat piece and you won't know if you like it. It was that way on DSL chocolate night. I only like 2 of the pieces of the cake, 1 i had to spit out. (they were international so some more unique flavors)

That is what I thought too.

Its mostly chocolate cake. I would rather enjoy a Hershey bar, which can be purchased without the fuss or the long stupid line easily at the gift shop. Everyone complains about the long lines, but make no attempt to avoid the long lines. Usually the leftover cakes are available at the casino for several hours later, with no long lines of waiting whatsoever.

I agree.

On my last cruise I got a regular sized piece of a diet cake that I knew I'd like, but since I wanted to try their chocolate cheesecake, I asked for, and was cheerfully given, a very slim piece of the cheesecake. Perfect! :)

We were on the Dawn in June and will be on the Gem Dec 13. Both times we were in the Garden Villa. Yes, the concierge took us in about 45 minutes before it opened to take pictures and enjoy anything we liked
