mafiadon Posted April 19, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 19, 2004 On my last cruise on the Triumph my girlfriend and I were seated just outside the casino having a drink and talking to the people sitting next to us when a couple in there late 50's came walking down the promanade, her in her bathrobe and nightgown and him in his boxers and tee shirt and sat down at the blackjack table and played for a while and then got up and left. At first I wasn't sure if I had to much to drink or I really did see this. joyceyw Posted April 19, 2004 #29 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Sheffie, I think I have that same necklace. It wasn't me that showed it off. I wouldnt do that. I friend of my cousins gave me one last year at Mardi Gras. It has male parts and mine is "interactive". It does get a lot of attention. Comments and people want to touch it. I would not wear it any other place but in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Tra4 Posted April 20, 2004 #31 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I don't know if I'm thankful I can't chime in, or disappointed?? I'm amazed at the people who walk around the decks in just a trashy tee shirt and cut off jeans! rncruiser Posted April 20, 2004 #35 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Many years ago on Song of America there was an elderly couple who wore matching outfits all week long. I mean everything, from swimwear to daytime clothes to formal wear was matching. They changed clothes several times a day so that everyone could see all the outfits they had. Since they lived near the port they didn't have to worry about airline restrictions on their luggage. I'm sure many others have seen them over the years as they were very frequent cruisers. bld24 Posted April 20, 2004 #37 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I've seen more than one "matching" couple. Interesting to say the least. I'm not sure how these women convice their husbands to dress like this all week. Not that I'd try, but the best I ever did was convice the DH to wear a bow-tie with the tux that was in the same color range as my gown. 13 cruises I won't bore you with them all Pending: Fantasy(5/4),Mariner(9/04),Splendour(2/05 http://community.webshots.com/user/bld24

joyceyw Posted April 20, 2004 #40 Share Posted April 20, 2004 brn2crz, Being a Spurs fan is even worse. We Laker fans habor deep resentment for the Spurs. I have family in San Antonio, huge Spurs fans. Matter of fact, my grandmother lives walking distance from their arena. Have had several cousins work for the Spurs. Needless to say this year they are missing Mr. Robinson, a bit. But they will give the Lakers trouble. Glad you have a sense of humor regarding our teams. joycelyn Until the Mariner of the Seas <marquee>Mariner of the Seas - Eastern Caribbean - Family and Friends Cruise!</marquee> Since the Official Order of the Radiance Rail Grabbers, Inc. JMG Posted April 20, 2004 #42 Share Posted April 20, 2004 On Majesty of Seas: A horse and Chuckwagon!!! He was the horse and she came as the chuckwagon complete with iron pans hanging on the sides! This was a 3 night MOS cruise and they were part of a business group. They wore this on formal night and the last night when everyone else was casual, the business people were formal. michiganders Posted April 20, 2004 #43 Share Posted April 20, 2004 A group of us (6 couples) dressed in vintage 70's tuxes and dresses for formal night a couple years ago. Not that we don't take formal night seriously...my DH usually wears a black tux. These were very well-preserved tuxes complete with vestsor cummerbunds, bow-ties and ruffles....all in pastel colors (yellow, powder blue, light brown, lilac, etc.). The ladies wore long dresses to match the tuxes. We had booked our cruise a year in advance, and it took us that long to find the tuxes and the dresses (mostly on EBay). The cruise staff and crew absolutely loved it. The photographers took tons of pictures of us. Happy ks Posted April 21, 2004 #44 Share Posted April 21, 2004 The most unusual I've seen I rather enjoyed. An elderly woman in a ball gown, mink stole completed with a tiara. She was sweet. Another time, on an NCL cruise, we saw a woman who wore the same dress to dinner every night. We thought she must have figured since it was Freestyle, she would be in a different dining room every night. It may have worked if the dress were not so, let me say, eye catching. It was a bright red muu-muu with rather large white hibiscus all over it. If I ever had a dress like it, I would probably consider it a housedress like my mom used to wear in the 60's. We also have seen a guy in a bright green shiney tuxedo, with the ruffled shirt, he would have fit right in with Michiganders! Kathy

GrannyJ Posted April 21, 2004 #46 Share Posted April 21, 2004 On a cruise several years ago, the two guys at the next table came back from a day in Nassau with everything "visible" braided, INCLUDING one guy's armpits. TheParrotHeads Posted April 21, 2004 #48 Share Posted April 21, 2004 FELINE1202: We saw the same thing on our NCL SUN cruise. It was very interesting...never could reason why someone would do this. The guy simply wore overalls all day and every hour of the day. We looked hard for him on formal night and we were dying to get a picture, but never could find him. matt082600 Posted April 21, 2004 #50 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Last September, on a Carnival cruise, a young lady wore a see through white long dress and NOTHING else under it on formal night. There was nothing left to the imagination with this outfit. To her credit, she had a nice figure. On the same night a guy came to dinner in shorts and a "home made" sleeveless jean shirt, complete with the remaining frills from the scissors!
