otowncruisr Posted November 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2008 Hi, From all the pics I've found, it doesn't look like there is much natural shade at the beach on HMC, only cabana's and clamshells. Can anybody shed some light on this (bad pun intended ;)) The beach at Coco Cay was great, with palms and sea grape trees you could pull the lounges under. Thanks! There is some shade along the cabana line back from the beach but not a lot. Clamshells are not that expensive.
cccole Posted November 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2008 We had a cabana last January and there were quite a few trees towards the path. We had a cabana towards the end of the beach away from the dock and the further you go down the beach the less crowded it becomes and the more shade available. I can't say waht is available in the more crowded area of the beach. Cherie
topspot Posted December 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2008 Spent a great day this past Friday on HMC. Plenty of shade if you're willing to walk away from the tender area. There is a tree thin tree line along the beach. If you get on the island early, you can get a spot closer to the tender area, but if you get there later, just keep walking, the crowd thins out. We found plenty of areas that had lounge chairs that weren't even being used both in the shade and in the sun.:)
