Veendam: Why Just One Itinerary?

This has probably been addressed, but anyway . . . . Last season the Veendam sailed three itineraries, I believe. We did the Cozumel/Jamaica/Cayman cruise. This season it's just one: Key West/Belize/Santo Tomas/Costa Maya, which we'll do in a couple weeks.

Does anyone know reasons for the restricted itineraries? Some of our fellow passengers were pretty unhappy with the aggressive vendors in Jamaica, but I'm sure there's more to it than that.
