Yes, ours (10/25 sailing)was a night departure from San Juan. Many people were on deck to see the city lights. I can't remember about the food and drinks, but there is a good bar on the aft deck and it was busy until we cleared the harbor.

 

That departure was one of the highlights of our cruise.

A night time sailaway from San Juan is loverly.

The aft deck is the best location. It is usually busy, but less crowded than other railbird options.

 

Veendam had a small combo playing sailaway music. They were playing Glenn Miller with a saxophone lead.

 

Not very Caribbean, but apropros for a HAL ship. :p
