Majesty 11/28-12/1 Review with Lots of Pics!!

We just got back Friday from our cruise and it was WONDERFUL!!! We have now been on 16 cruises and both of us feel the food in the dining room was one of the two best EVER!!! Great meals all four nights.

We also got lucky with a table for two and enjoyed our time together. Never have we tried this. Our new moto is when on a short cruise, table for two is the ticket. Anything longer than 4 nights and it will be a larger table so we can meet others.

I have to say while your Christmas decoratoin pics from Atlantis were beautiful, they do not compare to what it looks like in person. Looking down those halls from the front desk area was just breathtaking. All the lights looked like diamonds hanging down from the ceilings.

Our weather was not the greatest, all days in the 70's but the wind was horrible. We did get to go to CocoCay but the water was just not warm enough to stay in.

Again, THANKS for all the pics, it sure got Crystal in the cruising mood. I am sure I will visit this thread over and over again to help me remember our cruise!!!

I was hoping you'd come back and post after your trip! Yes, Atlantis was beautiful. You are right, it is so hard to capture how beautiful things are on a camera. Even if the picture does turn out great, it's still nothing compared to real life.

Bummer the water was so cold in Coco Cay.

We'll have to try a table for 2 if possible. DH said that the only way I will get him on another cruise is if we skip the dining room. I thought maybe with a table for 2 or maybe My Time Dining, we will still be able to go. He prefers the buffet so he can get exactly what he wants, whenever he wants, doesn't have to dress up, and doesn't have to sit with people he doesn't know. Personally, I just like the food better in the dining room. :)

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.

To everyone else that's posted, I'm glad you enjoyed the review. :):):)

Erin, It was such a pleasue meeting you and Charlie at our meet and greet. Thank you so much for this review you captured the trip perfectly.

Do you mind if I steal some of your pictures?? I did not take very many and would love to add some of the boat for my own personal album.

I just booked an amazing deal on another cruise on the Navigator out of Fort Lauderdale its just two nights to Coco Cay Jan 22nd but a guaranteed inside cabin is only $169 including port fees ect. I know we have a similar cruise history and I have been dying to get on one the larger boats and finally see a Royal Promenade. The only downfall is that we're leaving on a Thursday and back Sat morning so I had to use two vacation days... but the only other way to see one of their larger class ships is to book a 5 or more nighter and I just can't take that much time off.

You had asked about the fish with the yellow stripe... that's a yellow tailed snapper... I only know this because we fish for them alot in the keys... they are delicious!!

Anyways again.. thank you so much for your review, made me feel like I was right back on the boat!

Happy Holidays!

Sunrise was to be at about 6:45 so I still had a bit of time to watch. Over the coarse of last night's total darkness to different stages of sunrise, here is the pool deck:

This was really pretty!!! I have never done RCI.... I am still trying to decide on a ship right now but I don't want an inside room that is for sure because I would feel closed in... Your review was really really good!! It helps future newbies like me.....:D

Stephanie, it was great meeting you! I looked at that Navigator sailing but can't go because of school. Have a great time! It's no problem to use some of the pictures for a personal album.

Wow, thanks for the picture review of the cruise. I am about to set sail on Jan 12 for a 4-night cruise aboard Majesty and cant wait. I am going with a big group of people but will most likely be the only single person in my group. I debated about going for this reason; but just decided I would make the most of it and go with flow. Not to mention, I consider myself pretty good at having fun no matter the situation. I am hoping there will be other singles there I can meet and hang out with. I have been to Atlantis and find it amazing but way too darn expensive. I am looking forward to seeing the other part of Nassau and cant wait to hit Coco Cay. My itinerary also includes a stop in Key West; which I have also been to before but loved. Well hope you and Charlie have a great New Years!!

We are sailing Jan 12th also! We've got a roll-call going, if you click on the link in my signature, don't believe I've seen your name on there. Please join us, be great to have you! We are doing our own Meet & Mingle too on Jan 12th at 3:30pm in Viking Crown Lounge (Thanks to the suggestion from Erin!!)

Thank you so much for posting this review, it's honestly one of the best I have ever read. My girlfriend and I are cruising in March (Carnival though) and looking at all of your pictures has gotten me so excited.

Speaking of, what kind of camera did you use? The photos are amazing.

Thank you so much for the review and those great pics! Sis and I are thinking of doing the Majesty in May and you gave us insight pics to help fuel that desire... I especially love the ones of leaving Port of Miami, picture perfect. Glad you had a great cruise, I wish you many more!

Awesome, awesome review! It answered many questions I had for my upcoming Majesty sailing in June (+ Key west). I appreciate you taking the time to do so and to share your pictures. They really do say 1000+ words. I wish we lived close enough to take advantage of those killer deals. We are within driving distance (5.5 hours) of Galveston, but they just don't ever offer the deep discounted sailings like they do in Florida. I have saved up frequent flyer miles for a few years for my family of four to to on vacation. We will be using the to fly to Miami for this trip. Can't wait - especially now! :D

Thanks so much for posting these great pics and comments...we sail in 14 days on the Majesty. We are really enjoying that you've shared so much...since we're first time cruisers, you're really giving us a chance to absorb so much before we go...then maybe we can remember all that we've learned from you guys once we're there!!!;)

Looking forward to more pics and comments

Thanks again....

It's nothing fancy, a canon powershot A590:

I really like it: cheap, easy to use, and takes pretty good pictures.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I hope you all enjoy your upcoming cruises! :D:D:D

Thanks for the pics.Reminds me of my Majesty cruise last august.

That is what I was thinking. I got similar pictures because we were among the first on the ship that day. I will definitely revisit Majesty. (Possibly in 2010 as my daughter is getting married that year, so we may do the short cruise. )

I am heading down to the Majesty on the 23rd and was just thrilled to go thru your review and pictures...my first cruise (with dh) was on Sovereign and we loved her...now I am taking our adult dd on for a short "girls" cruise and i am hoping she loves it as much as we did...she has only been on Enchanment and Explorer...

thank you so much for such a wonderful thread full of such wonderful info...

I have one question...what were you able to see and do at Atlantis if you just take a taxi and go over there?

Erin,

Your photo quality is awesome. I really love the photos. Is that camera waterproof and if not, is there a case for it to be? Also, does it come with a slot for a memory card?

No the camera is not waterproof. I looked into getting a waterproof case for it, and canon makes one, but it is pretty expensive, about the same price as the camera itself as I recall. I also looked into using those cheap baggie type things they sell, but didn't want to risk ruining the camera, so I just bought a cheap underwater disposable for snorkeling. Yes it comes with a slot for a memory card.

have not been on the majesty since our 1st cruise in 2003:)

is there anyplace on this ship to eat outdoors like on the radience class?

hmmm... I'm trying to remember. (It's amazing how after just a few cruises the ships start blending together!) I remember that when we ate on the pool deck for the midnight buffet, there was no place to sit besides the loungers. I think there might be a few tables outside Windjammer, but I've never been on Radiance class to compare. Sorry I can't be of more help on that one.

I have one question...what were you able to see and do at Atlantis if you just take a taxi and go over there?

Basically everything you see in the pictures is what I did. Once we got there by taxi, we went in the front lobby. From the lobby you just keep walking straight in, go down some stairs, and then you are at the free aquarium area. Then we went back upstairs, and right above the aquariums there was a door leading outside. We walked along the side of the building admiring the grounds (where we walked, we didn't see the waterpark, but I'm not sure if that's because we walked the wrong direction or you just can't see it from where we were.) There were staff members blocking the paths off the main sidewalk againast the building, so only that people that were guests or that had paid the fees could go any farther. Eventually that path led to a door to go back inside, which happened to be the casino. We then just toured the inside of the building, going through the shops, etc.

I'm glad you all have enjoyed the review. I hope you all have a fabulous next cruise! :)
