Pernilla Posted December 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2008 We'll be arriving at Mayaguez on the Prinsendam on Dec. 23 (Tuesday). There are no shore excursions offered by the ship. Does anyone have any information on a tour company we could contact to set somethng up? Any web sites that would be of help?
Coqui2007 Posted December 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Don't know of any tour companies, but you will find a list of things to see in this article: Ideas for Mayaguez just scroll down the page One idea would be to ask a taxi driver to show you the sights - just agree a price beforehand. rainforestgirl Posted December 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Mayaguez is close to a number of interesting things to do. Right in Mayaguez is the Agricultural Research center and the Zoo. A little further, you get to Cabo Rojo, Guanica and the dry forest and clear water, then on to Ponce. Going up the coast you get to Rincon (surfers paradise). There is great snorkeling and scuba in this area. And it is close to the Coffee Route. Here are a few things I have done in the area: http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/category/south/ Tour companies... I did a google search and found http://senorboriqua.net/Pueblos/mayaguez.html -this lists taxis too. http://www.adventourspr.com/portadelsol/mayaguez/index.html http://www.gotoportadelsol.com/nature_and_adventure.php http://www.angelfire.com/fl5/guariquen/guagru.html But I am sure there are others.
