Frankie Sue Posted December 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Hi everybody: I hear that the Rotterdam is due to go into drydock in the next year for a refit. Does anyone know when that will be? We are planning to sail on its transatlantic Voyage in the Fall of 2009 and it would be nice to know that it will be refurbished before then. Thanks for your help. Mary Ellen Posted December 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2008 We are planning to sail on its transatlantic Voyage in the Fall of 2009 and it would be nice to know that it will be refurbished before then. We're currently booked on that cruise. We're VERY thankful that the drydock isn't until after the cruise. One last time to sail her before she is mutilated (which to me the lanai cabins will be). RevNeal Posted December 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Mary Ellen, What cabin are you and Karl booked in?? If you'd rather not post that on the board, e-mail me off-board.
bobpatj Posted December 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2008 The Captain told us the end of the year, 2009, but specific dates he didn't have. I'm not happy about the changes to the ship, either! :(
Mary Ellen Posted December 4, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Pat - The HAL site just has Nov 2009, so my guess is right after the TA.
Frankie Sue Posted December 4, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted December 4, 2008 Thanks you guys....... From what everybody seem to think, we should look forward to sailing the Rotterdam BEFORE the refit. and it looks like it will be in drydock AFTER the TA. So that's good. Mary Ellen Posted December 5, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Ruth, we booked this 'just in case' back in August as there was only 1 cabin left in our preferred category. We have Adele's cabin from the Antarctic cruise.
RuthC Posted December 5, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Oh, that's right. Old timers' disease, and all that rot, I guess. :o I hope things work out that you and Karl do come, after all. :)
