Need advice on flight times for SKY cruise

I'm looking at the NCL SKY 4-day out of Miami. What is a reasonable time to book a flight on the Friday return out of Miami? I'm thinking that because it's a weekday and not a weekend flight, there woudn't be that extra crush of cruise ship passengers to contend with. I'd like some feedback on what others booked and got away with. (i.e. could/have you made a 10:10 a.m. flight out of MIA?????)

We did the express embarkation and my hubby is a frequent flier so we are able to get in the priority aisle on American. Miami is a very busy airport, not to mention rather large and there were lines for most of the airlines and the security line was long but moved at a relatively fast pace. That said, you still have the Miami rush hour to deal with on a Friday just to get to the airport. I think I would be more inclined to do a later flight myself.

There are more than ship in port with you, alot of people alot of traffic and alot could go wrong. People have said they made it once some even twice but you don't want to the one that doesn't and why put the stress on you during the cruise. The airport is about 20 - 25 min by taxi and was $25.50 in Oct., 2008. You get in on Friday, spent the weekend in Miami, if you can't do that look for an afternoon flight. We got in on a Friday 10/10/08 and spent the weekend in Miami, went down to Key West had a great post cruise time and found the air fare to be a lot cheaper on Sunday than Friday.

I am the wrong person to be asking because I belive in the later the better to fly out and the sooner the better to fly in.

Enjoy your cruise
