Please tell me what u did in Cozumel???

Recommended Posts

I can't decide. It will be our last port, we are snorkeling in Grand Cayman, Hiking in Jamaica, and not sure where we are going instead of Haiti...

I know Cozumel has GREAT snorkeling too, but not sure if 8 y/o daughter will be able to handle it. (water seems deeper).

I just want some opinions from the people in the "know".

TIA

www.eagleraydivers.com has a dune buggy tour through the jungle that takes you to a deserted beach for lunch and swimming. It looked pretty cool. I am trying to figure out if we will have time to do that and a snorkel/dive tour. My daughter is 8 also and she has done the snorkeling thing since she was 5. They'll never get used to it if they never do it. My husband and my 10 year old son will be doing the diving where us girls will be snorkeling. I guess they can't dive until they are 10 or something like that. Oh well, it gives us an excuse to go back.

We were in Cozemel last month and we found Paradise Beach through the Ports of Call message board. We were truly lucky to have found it. So much fun and a beautiful clean beach. Lots of fun things for kids and parents. Your daughter will probably love the water trampoline and the iceberg rockwall thing. You should check out the Cozemel sectoin under ports of call for lots of pictures and ideas.

Whatever you do have FUN!

I heard Paradise Beach was great..we'll have to try it next time. We went to Chankanaab Park (sp?). It was great!! Great snorkeling!! They have a beach with chairs with shade right next to a little restaurant that has beach service and even had a band playing. They have ruins on the property and have a dolphin encounter (didn't do that because we did it in Jamaica). Hope you find something you really enjoy. We had a great time there!! Ann

We went to Chankanaab park and had a great time. We also played mini golf at Sally's. That was great fun. It's a very nice mini golf.

we did a jungle jeep tour through travelnotes

http://www.travelnotes.cc/cozumel/tours/jeep.html

it was a blast!!!!! its similar to the dune buggy tour that is on the post earlier... but this is with a smaller group (not through the ship) we had 5 of us... 3 teenage boys and we all had a blast!!!! You got to see a different part of Cozumel and they still made sure you had time to shop if you wanted to. The snorkeling wasn't good at the beach we went to... but the beach and water were beautiful!! food was great and Heather and Ginger (the tour guides) were wonderful !! we would definitely do this one again!!! Let me know if you have any questions!!

We did some shopping and then the Playa Del Sol Beach Break. It was a really nice beach with a great pool and water activities. The drinks are also included in the ticket.

We also did the dolphin touch program at Chankanaak Park (?).

It was alot of fun and they offer several dolphin packages which include a touch, encounter and the royal swim.

I tried to book the royal swim 9 months in advance and it was already sold out so I settled for the touch (I think) and it was alot of fun. We got the dorsel fin swim, kiss, etc.....

However, the royal swim has alot more activities involved and they seemed to have a great time.

Hope this information helps and have a great cruise.

The Dune Buggy tour we did was great! We booked it through the ship and it offers snorkeling, beach stop, lunch, and a drive around cozumel island.

Any questions, let me know.

We will be in Cozumel the wee of May 9th. My DH wants us to "get out of the box" and go parasailing. I admit it does sound like fun but I do have a fear of heights. Anyone ever parasailed in Cozumel. Please, calm my fears, will I live to regret or enjoy parasailing

We did Chanakaab Park and it was wonderful. I agree with other posters, Cozumel was the highlight of our cruise. Also, we were in port from 7:00 a.m. until midnight which was great. Lots of time to relax at the beach, back to ship and then into town for shopping, etc. Cozumel seems to offer something for everyone. Am sure the port of call board can help too. Sally's mini-golf is fun too!

You really cannot go wrong in cozumel! When I went last year, my wife and I did the discover scuba which was a total blast. ( we got back home and got certified). This year we did the dunebuggy tour which is also a blast. You do get some swimming / snorkleing time on the dunebuggy tour as well.

We started the day off going deep sea fishing with Albratros Charters. We caught a Sailfish and Wahoo and then had the boat drop us off downtown and had the best margritas and appatizers at Pancho's Backyard and then toured downtown. Check out the fishing pictures.

Everyone keeps mentioning Chankanob (sp) park. But if you want to go out of the box, rent a car ($35-$60) and drive to the East side of Island. We ate at Chen Rio's and we will never forget that expereince.

I too have heard of the dune buggy tours, but different company, they provide you with a cooked lunch that they prepare on the beach, all the beer and soda your buggy can carry and snorkeling at a deserted beach. You also get to go to some of the ruins. We are going to try it when we go in January 2006. The site is cozumelhomes.com

Have fun with whatever you decide.

We walked the town shopping and then headed for Mr. Sancho's beach where we rented chairs, swam in the ocean and drank Cronona's on the beach.

We had a fabulous time.
