I just got home from Fascination

We had fun!! For those who want to know, taxi from JAX $32, tip, $6.00, $2 to porter, total $40. Return taxi, flat $35, after getting in and asking, (on arrival it was metered), so another $40 for return taxi.

Embark took over a hour, long line at 12:30. Wanted to smack complaining man behind us  and prayed I would not see him again :p

Our room U72, all good, plenty of space, closet/drawer for storage.

Difficult to plug in hair dryer with the GFCI plugs, very tight squeeze, barely got it in outlet.

Shower was great. Always plenty of hot water and good pressure.

Room steward, Tennyson, his first day, did a great job and we side tipped him daily. Our room was close to stairs and we took them ALOT.

HATED being on inside though. Will not do that again. I want to see the sea and the sky.

Did not eat dinner buffet at all. Dining room 3 nights, room service one night. Food was good, not great, but good. I had, talapia, prime rib, lobster, shrimp and the short ribs WERE really good.

Ate lunch buffet once, just ok. The lines were long!! We had the salad bar buffet instead one day, lots of stuff on it and it was good. We had the grill also, rueben, pizza, turkey wrap, pretty good!

The room service was unbelievably fast, 10 minutes. After Nassau shore excursion, ordered 3 sandwiches, ham/cheese, the sirloin with brie, the portebella mushroom sand., dessert. Was ok.

We hung out outside the buffet, aft, lido deck, alot. Hardly anyone ever out there. Always a table available and not windy at all, like it is on the side.

Did not hang out around the pool at all. In the casino too often  and did not win, because we don't know when to say when . You are supposed to say "when" when you are UP right??? LOL!

We didn't go to any shows either or did not go to the Palace for anything. I swear, 2 nights, embark day and Saturday, we were really tired and asleep by 9:00. We are 52 and 53 but you'd think we might be 80, we were fuddy duddies! I do usually wake up real early, is that a good excuse??

Formal night was fun. Did not like very many of our pictures, thought I was ugly. But did select one when debarking at Nassau with Fun Ship Freddy and one on formal night, on atrium stairs, decorated for Christmas.

Snorkeled in Nassau, (can I say with who?), and it was AWESOME! We got off ship at probably 9, shopped...side note: NO ONE BUGGED US, stay away from the straw market or "street" vendors if you can't deal with the "pressure" and they do bug the crap out of you, but its like that anywhere. I was pleased that I could walk along the streets and not be bugged. There are plenty of stores that sell the same things and no one bothers you.

But, they picked us up to snorkel around 12:15, out front on the street for a 45 min-1 hour ride to snorkel place. We snorkeled three different sites, including with nurse sharks and all were really good!! Good color and lots of fish! I rented a wet suit and was glad I did, water was chilly, 78, they said. Hubby did not and he didn't complain too much so I guess water not that bad, but I thought it was!!

We got too far away from the boat and had a killer swim getting back to the boat. I was so out of breath because we were last ones to get back on. Didn't realize the time and we were so far away from boat, I about died, gasp gasp!

We were going to Atlantis but snorkeling took it out of us. I wanted to go but I am going to be there in April so I will check it out then. Hubby did not care at that point so we didn't go.

I do have lots of pics, some of room, some of pool area, aft area, etc. Atrium, atrium bar, Casino LOL! If I ever figure out how to put on here.

I will add more later, must get back to work for now....

Thanks for your review and glad you had a good time. DH and I are sailing on her on Jan. 15th. We just sailed on a 10-day Holland America cruise that returned on Sunday that was fabulous. So glad we don't have too long to wait until we cruise again:D We sailed on the Fascination back in the mid-90's when she was doing 7-day Southern Caribbean cruises and are looking forward to being on her again. We love Nassau and try to go there several times a year. Freeport is just so-so and we usually end up going to the casino (Isle of Capri I think) for the day. We live an hour west of Jacksonville, so cruising out of that port is so convenient. Thanks again for writing your comments.
