olectric Posted November 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2004 What side of the Century does the "entry-way" open to? Port or starboard? Or is is both? We want to be on the side of the ship facing the piers when it is docked.
dkjretired Posted November 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2004 What side of the Century does the "entry-way" open to? Port or starboard? Or is is both? We want to be on the side of the ship facing the piers when it is docked. The answer is both, there are any number of variables as to which way the ship will dock when at the pier so you really can't tell. Also, some places you dock are really not that captivating, depending on the port I might want to be facing the water as opposed to the dock. jsbern Posted November 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2004 We were on the Century last year...Western Caribbean. The pier was always on the starboard side.
ddl Posted November 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Our Western Carrib. cruise in May...two ports were starboard...one was port. Our cabin (SS on Sky deck) was on the Starboard side. In one port(?) when docked on the port side, our cabin looked right into a huge RCCL ship (AOS). Ships so close that we could see people eating in one of the dining areas. Wasn't too fond of that, but heck we weren't in our cabin too long anyway. We could hear every announcement they made on that ship. So glad Celebrity does not do that. kitty9 Posted November 9, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2004 There's no way of telling which way the captain will pull the ship into the dock. It depends on many things such as arrival time, other ships already in port and things like that. So when picking a room dependent on dock location is just a toss of the dice. Zimomiller Posted November 10, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2004 I suggest an aft cabin. Never had one I did not like yet!
