Babysitting for 21 month old

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. My mom and dad used to take us on cruises back when we were infants as well as kids (we were lucky!). My mom said that crew members in the childcare area would often babysit in-room during excursions or for a few hours in an evening. I see that NCL only allows babysitting for 2 and over.

 

1) do you think they would bend the rules and babysit for a 21 month old?

 

2) if not, do you think some of the childcare folks would be allowed to babysit, say "under the table"? Any advice? Thanks!

Sorry, it is going to be very likely, no, to both your questions. Crew members- don't have "free time", in my opinion. :)

NCL's insurance does not cover babysitting under 2 year olds and it doesn't cover in room babysitting. Any crew member found violating either rule will be immediately fired.

 

Other cruise lines are more accommodating BUT NCL is among the very few cruise lines that charges taxes only for under two's. If you want to go to the other cruise lines that charge for the baby they have different rules.
