Life's a Beach!! Posted December 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2008 I have a fear of heights. Do you think one w/ this fear can handle Dunn Falls?
Rare Lionesss Posted December 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2008 I too have a fear of heights. When I ride up the elevator in the Skylon tower in Niagra falls, I face the back wall. I watched many videos of Dunns Falls on You tube, and I did well. I just said to myself it is an upward creek. At the beginning I found it a little challenging, but just kept focused on the person ahead of me. Go early avoid the crowds, and latch on to one of the locals as your guide. You should do fine. I did well. Also because of You tube I was able to do the zip line in Labadee. DO IT SAFE TRAVELS.

ukbballfan Posted December 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2008 I too am not fond of heights but at Dunn's River Falls, it really doesn't come into play. It kind of stairsteps up. You have more to fear from the "extortionist guides" then you do from heights.
seagypsy123 Posted December 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2008 Dunn's River Falls is supposed to be a fun tour and many people have wonderful experiences but I did not enjoy it. There were about 12 of us that ended up getting separated from our group so we found it to be quite a challenge as we no longer had a guide. Oh, the height wasn't bad but all the water crashing on top of you and not knowing where to place your next step caused a great deal of anxiety. On the other hand, our dining mates had a fabulous time and didn't want to leave as did my parents in years gone by. Go with an open mind, enjoy the scenery and stay with your group!
