Doubletree Grand Biscayne Miami

Our family shall be staying at the Doubletree Grand Biscayne in December.

Has anyone stayed there before - how are the rooms and dining facilities?

Also any tips for restaurants and shopping in the area.

I think that is the one we stayed at a couple of years ago. The Marina is right there. By the marina entrance is a little grocery store and we got a cafeteria type breakfast we ate in our room. reasonable prices since you will be eating a whole lot on the cruise.

We stayed there on October 1st, one night before our cruise on the Navigator. It was fine.

There is a Chinese restaurant on the street level (we had carry-out). There is also a grocery store on street level (if you want to pick up any last-minute items to carry-on the ship), and a place for breakfast.

Was just there 10/30. Rooms are large and clean. Hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. There's a whole shopping / dining area attached to the hotel. We grabbed sandwiches at the deli for lunch which were very good. We went to Bayside Marketplace for dinner and "entertainment" (people watching!) which was fun.

From some of the rooms, you can see the port. We started in one room and ended up switching to another because of a "band" setting up outside our room. (not so much of a band as loud noise!) From the new room we could see the port. I thought it was extremely accomodating of the hotel to move us at no charge since we had gotten the room through priceline.

 

As for the liquor store, the deli that we ate at was also a small everything kind of store which also sold beer, but I can't remember if there was other alcohol as well.

Yes, they sell beer, wine, and hard liquor at the same store.

Just book the DoubleTree Grand Hotel for $55 on Priceline. Was surprised they accepted this price since our trip isn't until December.

 

Does anyone have any additional info on this hotel? Should I call in advance and ask for a port view?

They also have laundry facilities on one of the floors.

 

Hotel staff is friendly and nice.

 

Never stayed at the hotel, you will be pleased. Had a nice tour of the hotel when we stayed at the Radisson and went over there to do post cruise laundry.
