hott_michelle2001 Posted December 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2008 A few things here and there but overall a good trip! The room was clean and was perfect for teh two of us. The beds are so comfortable. We left new orleans on time and headed towards progresso. The missisippi river was a little rought but not to bad. Our first night dining was great. We sat in the late seating in jubilee and had great waiters who had us laughing the entire time. the entertainment was bit off. The first night we watched teh show it seemed like the dancers were all off and it looked more liek a kindergarten performance. The female singer was good but the male just seemed to be missing something. he had a nice voice but didnt seem like he really wanted to be there. The last show was much better. it was a x-mas performenace and they had obviously practiced more for it that the others. the comedian was not ufnny. he did not know how to deliver a joke. The vatriliquist was great though, we were all laughing. All the drinks we ordered were wonderfully made and plentiful. The ship was almost always being worked on. The food on the lido deck was not that impressive and could be improved. but not terrible. All in all the trip was great. One thing. watch out for a american on the seawall in progresso. He will tell you about this great restraunt in a large yellow building. they have good drink special but when you get the bill they will overcharge you o neverything and when oyu confront them they act like they cant speak english and the american will be long gone by then. he sat and talked us until about 5 min before the bill came . he was very charming. then we got a $70 bill for a meal that should not have been more than 40 bucks. avoid the yellow restraunt on the progresso boardwalk! rcandv Posted December 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 25, 2008 Do you know the name of the Yellow Restaurant in Progresso? We just recently went in October and are planning another cruise. In October, we went on the Fantasy right after Dry Dock and the ship had its issues, but we still enjoyed the cruise. Anyways, when we went to Progresso, there was an American who had a restaurant across from the beach and his name was Buddy. However, he was there all the time, giving out shots to other tourists and the prices weren't too bad. Just wondering if it was the same place. StKittslover Posted December 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2008 We also visited Buddys in Progreso. It was a lot of fun. Ex-pats from the states hang out there. Nobody pushes you to buy another drink. There are roaming beach vendors, but not the pushy types like in Cozumel. I liked Progeso. I could live there. hott_michelle2001 Posted December 26, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted December 26, 2008 I cant recall the name of the place. It was right across from the beach on the main road. It was a large yellow building and the man who was american left just before we got the bill. another couple traveling on the cruise was sitting there when we arrived and said to check our bill that there was overcharged as well. so just a warning to anyone going to progresso to be careful at this restraunt. rcandv Posted December 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 27, 2008 I think Buddy's place was named Buddy's. Weird huh? I'll have to check to see what the name actually was. The vendors on the beach were a bit annoying. $5.00 for a song, really?
