barbevrn Posted December 24, 2008 #26 Share Posted December 24, 2008 This is the first cruise I've been on where an iron is available. I like the idea of going early in the day - I'll do that. In the past I just hung the garment in the bathroom while I took my shower. The steam releases the wrinkles. That downy wrinkle release is expensive! Rather spend the money on a DOD:D If you watch the travel sample bins at walmart......you can get a small travel size wrinkle relaser..........much less than a DOD :D Edited to add: I don't worry much about wrinkles except on formal night. As a rule, I pick something wrinkle resistant if at all possible. In the rare cases they weren't wrinkle resistant, they have usually been hanging long enough to be presentable. katiel53 Posted December 24, 2008 #27 Share Posted December 24, 2008 I also use dry cleaner bags. I pack 2 outfits per bag on hangers. The clothes aren't wrinkled and it makes for easy unpacking when onboard. I always have too many clothes so when it comes time to pack to go home, I can still use the bags and hangers to keep my clean clothes unwrinkled. The used hangers go in the trash as well as the bags. We also take a dollar store fold-up/down hamper. All dirty clothes go into the hamper so when it comes time to go home, all dirty clothes in one suitcase, clean into the other. Works well for us. Enjoy. new22003 Posted December 24, 2008 #28 Share Posted December 24, 2008 Here are a few tips I use. 1. Iron everything at home before you leave. 2. As mentioned above roll what you can 3. A carefully packed suit bag keeps shirts and nice clothes looking pretty nice. 4. Hang your clothes in the bathroom when you shower. The steam takes out many of the wrinkles. 5. Use a wrinkle releaser. Have Fun!
