nanfromatlanta Posted December 30, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2008 We just returned on Sunday. Sorry, no flat screen TVs or any DVD players in the balcony cabins or Jr Suites.
wrp96 Posted December 30, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2008 You have to go up to a Grand Suite at least to get a DVD player on RCCL.

geegee1 Posted December 30, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2008 You have to go up to a Grand Suite at least to get a DVD player on RCCL. That's ridiculous. Thankfully i have a portable. does anyone know the channel's that the tv's get?
wrp96 Posted December 30, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2008 That's ridiculous. Thankfully i have a portable. does anyone know the channel's that the tv's get? Why is that ridiculous? Most major cruiselines are the same - no DVD players until you get up to a full suite. If you want the TV channel listing, look for posts by Radio. He has taken the time in the past to list out all the TV channels available on RCCL ships.
Bethee99 Posted December 30, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2008 Do you guys really watch that much TV and DVDs to make a difference? They have a few movie channels but most are in a different language :) Just think that just gives you more of a reason to go out and try everything. I'm always a little surprised how few people do some of the activities. Many times I will go to things and be the only one there or very few people will be there. dcruisers Posted December 31, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I'm thinking the same as the posting above. The best part of cruising is having all the activities available! As much as I love a good movie, I don't go on a cruise to watch tv! I think if tv was that important to me, I may have to stay home as most cruise ships have very little variety of tv to chose. Do try to new and fun things to make up for the lack of movies and tv shows!
mail2pizza Posted December 31, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Nothing like asking a simple question and getting a lecture on how to do a cruise. If you people bothered to look the poster has been on 17 cruises. I think that qualifies as knowing what they enjoy. Why can't people on these boards simply answer a question telling other people how they should take a vacation.
wolfcathorse Posted December 31, 2008 #11 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I thought the flat screen TV's were installed fleet wide the end of last year.

Thank you for your input. And for the rest of you .................... I would get thrown off the board. I am beginning to see the difference between HAL people and RCCL people. I will go back to HAL after this cruise !!!!!!

FL_Cruiser64 Posted December 31, 2008 #15 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I thought the flat screen TV's were installed fleet wide the end of last year. Nope. I believe they will be installed with refurbishing beginning last year. ;) To the OP: if a DVD player is such a big deal (based on your ridiculous comment) you may want to stick with HAL. Maybe HAL has them because there is so little to see and do.
