jimswims Posted January 4, 2009 #26 Share Posted January 4, 2009 sound pretty much travels down, not up. I wouldnt be too concerned about what is below. Nita I think that the problem is when the speakers and other sound equipment are in the ceiling and your cabin is above you get to feel the beat and vibration. KerCar Posted January 5, 2009 #27 Share Posted January 5, 2009 We've never had an inside cabin so this is good news! Would you happen to have any pictures? If not could you try and describe the set up? Thanks I didn't take any pics of the cabin but will try to describe the layout. When you walk in the door, to the right is the sleeping area. There is enough room to have two beds pushed together, a nightstand, and a third bed off to the side. Unlike the standard inside rooms, there is space between the big bed and the other bed against the wall. If you have a 4th person in your room, there is a pull down bed. Directly across from where you enter is the desk/tv area. To the left of that is a small hallway with a bathroom and closet. My BIL was in a balcony cabin across the hall from us and commented that our room seemed a lot bigger than his. Additionally, there is plenty of storage space, including room for all your luggage under the beds!

KerCar Posted January 5, 2009 #29 Share Posted January 5, 2009 The above cabin is pretty much the same as 10611. The only difference is the location of the bathroom door. In 10611 it is directly across from the closet.
kdg51 Posted January 7, 2009 #30 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Cabins 9551 & 9051 on either side of the stairs are also larger inside cabins. We had no problem with noise in that location last May. Hi KerCar...where are going next? I think I'm ready to book the Pearl/Alaska for the end of July. Only problem is I will need a vacation long before July. I am hoping that the Spirit will be doing the same or similar repositioning cruise in April 2010.

I hear you about needing a vacation sooner though! It's cold here! Good luck booking your next one! That would be great if you could do the Spirit again in 2010! oneeyedguy Posted January 14, 2009 #32 Share Posted January 14, 2009 What about 9703 or 9205? They look like they might be bigger, and they are available for the cruise I wish to take. Anyone have any info? Thanks Gordie

Anyone have any info? Thanks Gordie They are both 160 sq ft. The normal inside is 149 I think. If you find an available cabin while your going through the booking process just click on the cabin number (not the ship diagram but the available cabin list) and it tells you all about that cabin. ripmark Posted January 20, 2009 #34 Share Posted January 20, 2009 We just stayed in 9703 on Jan. 11 Cruise on Spirit. They have moved the arcade to the front of the ship (from the 10th floor to the 7th). That would have been overhead but, is now state rooms. This was a quiet room with more space. It holds 3 (4 would be an issue). It is next to a stair well/door but, we had very little traffic. It is a the aft of the boat so, their is some more movement. Overall all it was a very convient and comfortable room.

GORDONCHICK Posted January 20, 2009 #36 Share Posted January 20, 2009 I would not book a forward cabin on a low deck again, regardless of the line. When docking or anchoring, there is unbelieveable noise, more so with anchoring. We had a very forward cabin on a Princess ship a few years ago, and never again - even if it means not going. And to me, the little extra space would not make up for it.

We booked just before she sold out, in fact they had just re-opened when we grabbed a cabin. It was forward, deck 4. OMG, we heard every sound that could be heard from the docking to as you said, anchoring.. Nita
jostvandyke Posted March 11, 2009 #38 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Ok....so I have rooms 8000 and 8500 booked on the Spirit for Feb 2010. My DH, I and DD in one room and my parents and other DD in the other room. However, both of the girls will actually be sleeping in our room (we just booked that way because we couldn't book 4 in a cabin). Anyway, do I understand that there is actual bedspace for 4? Does anyone have pics of these rooms. I'm trying to decide if we should keep these or upgrade to 2 balcony rooms (which would cost a bit more). Any help?
packard89 Posted March 11, 2009 #39 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Where specifically is the Arcade now? Did they take part of the Casino for it? No, it's near the casino. Not in it. It's kind of across the hall from the casino.
Don Haynes Posted March 11, 2009 #40 Share Posted March 11, 2009 We are sailing on the Spirit this May. I had an opportunity to tour her when she was in Boston more than a year ago and while I did not have an opportunity to view any of the staterooms since they were all occupied, I was very pleasantly surprised at how tastefully decorated the public rooms were and the variety of eating places and lounges. We are looking forward to experiencing an NCL cruise on something larger and more spacious than the Norwegian Majesty. I know many people who cruised on the Majesty and had a wonderful time, but I think that they will be even more pleased now that the Spirit will be sailing to Bermuda out of Boston.:) The Spirit has had wonderful reviews recently from New Orleans, and I fully expect similar reviews from Boston. She is a huge improvement over the Dream and Majesty, more restaurants and many more balconies. When she sailed from ports that have seen the larger NCL ships similar to the Dawn, she has had mixed reviews. New Englanders will love her Asian decor, only matched by her sister ship, Superstar Virgo. Be sure to visit the bridge overview area below the Galaxy of Star lounge forward and say hi to Leo.:eek:
JerseyGem Posted March 13, 2009 #41 Share Posted March 13, 2009 Where specifically is the Arcade now? Did they take part of the Casino for it? The arcade is now where the karaoke room used to be (off of the Shanghai Bar). They now do karaoke out on the back deck (Raffles Terrace).
maggiecatenjay Posted March 14, 2009 #42 Share Posted March 14, 2009 Hi, I came across these facility_planner pdf's and really loved the side by side views of the decks so you can see at a glance what's under/over what. http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/cruiser/cmsPages.html?pageId=FacilityPlanners watch out, though, the Spirit one is almost seven megs... There are some cool pics, as well. Also, my group and I are in the following rooms Boston to Bermuda June 5th... Does anybody have any good/bad info on any of them? Especially the guest of honor's room, 10116? I think Deck 10 is gonna be THE place to be LOL! 10601 10116 - GOH 10106 - Me 10101 10080 10078 10076 9568 9028 5585 5581 5580 5579 4562 Thanks.
