Weston, Coral Gables

We're staying at the Westin, Coral Gables, for 2 nights precruise. We booked on Hotwire and are very pleased. We are renting a car in FLL and driving down so we can see the area. I know we'll pay for parking, but want to see areas such as Key Biscayne,Coconut Grove, South Beach, as well as Coral Gables. We'll be able to walk to restaurants on Miracle mile. Any suggestions for restaurants and points of interest would be appreciated. We are there on a Friday and Saturday in March. Is it far to get to the Everglades National Park?

we stayed in Coral Gables last year at the Hyatt Regency. We walked around that evening and consider it to be a very safe area. We also walked to a Publix supermarket to get lemonade to take on the ship. We ate at a pub, but I understand there are a lot of different restaurants. Cab ride is about $25 to pom.

If you've never been to Vizcaya, its definitely worth a visit.
