Planer's Edge Posted January 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2009 Has anyone taken the "Beach Break" excursion offered by NCL in Belize? Is it worth the money? What is there to do here? PE
HappyChick Posted January 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2009 We did this last week on the NCL Spirit. The tenders leave directly from the ship and take you straight to Bannister Island. There were 3 ships in port that day, and the island was fairly crowded. However, they staggered the arrivals and departures and that seemed to help w/the crowding. The beach and the water are absolutely beautiful. There are lots of lounge chairs and some palapas and shade. You can also rent kayaks. There are hammocks, a playground for kids, and a couple shops. There is a bar and covered eating area. The food is pretty good, the service is good. This was our second trip there, and we really enjoyed it both times. Planer's Edge Posted January 9, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Thank you. What kind of food was available? What is the approximate cost of food and drinks? PE
HappyChick Posted January 12, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Sorry for the delay..... There were burgers and fries, and BBQ chicken w/beans, rice, and potato salad. I know there was other stuff, but that is what we ordered. Both were good. The burger and fries was $8.00 and I think the chicken dish was $10. Drinks were $5-6. stjude95 Posted January 18, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Most of the messages I have seen regarding the water at Belize beaches is that it is murky and dirty looking. How did this water look?

You might be thinking of Guatemala where the port is in a bay. In Belize the beaches are out on the islands and the water is clear.

True. Have you been to Santo Tomas De Castilla? I'm trying to decide between the NCL excursion of BEACH AT AMATIQUE BAY RESORT and LAS ESCOBAS WATERFALL VOYAGE. I've posted the following questions on both Belize and Guatemala website, but haven't received any hits. Just curious how much walking on waterfall voyage and how much time you get to swim and how the beach is at the resort?
