Another suggestion, Agnes in Limon, Costa Rica

My wife and I just got off the Celebrity Summit and had a most enjoyable time in Limon. We traveled with two other couples and were just planning on spending the day on or near the ship. We did want to get coffee, some vanilla and see a little of the surrounding area. As you might imagine, as we left the gated shopping area off the pier, we were immediately surrounded by taxi drivers more than willing to take us on their tour. We made it through the initial swarm by saying "No thank you" and just kept walking across the street. On the corner is where we met Agnes. She too wanted to take us on a tour. She showed us her Van and introduced us to her Cousin who would be doing the driving and said that she would be our tour guide. She told us that we would take a 2-3 hour tour including a tour of the town, tour a banana plantation, visit the highest location for a view of Limon and the ship, stop at a nice resturant if we would like, and visit a nice local beach and finish by stopping at a super market for our coffee and vanilla purchases. The price would be $10 each and she assured us that we would have a nice time. We all six decided to go for it and were not dissapointed. Her cousin was a very careful driver, she spoke very good English, and we also, as a bonus, got to see and hold a sloth. We had a nice cold drink at one of the little resturants at the beach and were also able to buy Coffee for $2 a bag instead of $5 at the pier. Vanilla was also cheaper in the store and she helped us check out to make sure we got the right price. We felt safe at all times.

But most of all, we made a friend in Costa Rica. What a special young lady! By the end of our 3 hour tour it was hard to say good bye. Her name is Agnes Hormel (ask her at some time about her last name) and you can locate her on the corner across the street from the gated entrance to the pier. It appeard to us that she was the only female tour guide near the pier. You can't miss her smile!
