JOANNAHOLTON Posted November 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2004 For anyone who has been to the Bahamas during Christmas: Are the shops open Christmas day or the day after?Which would be better to visit?I know they also celebrate Boxing day?Is this why there are still so many cabins available? Thanks, Jo
Tmmull Posted November 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2004 We were on the Sovereign last Christmas Eve. The captain explained that we had to leave early due to the port closing for the holidays. If we were not out of the Bahamian waters by midnight we would have had to stay until after boxing day! Judging from what we've heard of the holiday party, we don't think any thing is open! :D We'll be back in Nassau on the 23rd on the Navigator!
JOANNAHOLTON Posted November 14, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted November 14, 2004 We would actually be there the day after Christmas if we go on the Majesty and the day of Christmas if we go on Sovereign.I am just trying to decide which ship to pick based on shopping opportunities :D.Bahamas.com website says that Boxing day is observed on Monday, so I would think maybe a few places would be open the 26th?Of course the worst case scenario is I am on a short cruise huh :D??
