Have you checked out the board for ports? There is a lot of really good info there.

In Cabo, we did a glass bottom boat tour for $10 pp. It was about 45 minutes and took us all around lands end. We also checked out Cabo Wabo.

In Mazatlan, we did a horseback ride on Stone Island with Randi's Happy Horses. I highly recommend this.

In Puerto Vallarta we did a whale watching excursion through Wildlife Connections. This was really great fun, also. We saw lots of whales.

We didn't go to any beaches.

First time on the Pacific Side...Any help with Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo. Where's the best shopping, beaches? We want to do something different at each port and looking for some help in this?

While we were in Puerto we went to the Krystal Resort and got a wonderful couples massage for $75 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then later we did a dune buggy tour in the mountains. Both were great.

In Mazatlan we did a city tour with Mazatlan Frank, he was great and came highly recommended. On his tour he showed us cliff divers, shopping and took us to a resort where we did rock climbing and a zip line. That was followed by a huge lunch on the beach that was awesome!

In Cabo we just went to the beach and hung out which was fun but make sure you take a water taxi, the walk is way to long

Thanks for the help....did you go through Carnival or did you just do it on your own? We've heard more about just doing these things on your own and getting a better deal without ALL of the people going at once. Any thoughts?

We did a Carnival Tequila Factory tour in Puerto Vallarta, which was fun. Got to taste all kinds of YUMMY flavors of tequila......chocolate, coffee, tangerine, apple, lots more......very mild tequila too. Not like taking a shot of Cuervo!

Mazatlan, we just took a taxi to the Golden Zone and hung out on the beach. It was a fun beach day.....warm water, and not too rough.

Cabo, we did a snorkel tour but the water was FREEZING, and I am very tough when it comes to water temp. Not many fish either. Nothing like the Caribbean. Then we took a water taxi to Pueblo Blanco resort where friends were staying.....had lunch and hung out at the pool. The beach there was very steep and waves were very rough so we didn't use the beach.

Oh, and by the way.......WELCOME to Cruise Critic! :)

Just did that itinerary last Feb....

We went to Las Caletas @ PV - nice, but the seas were very very rough that day, bad riptides, so we just laid out on the beach & hiked the trails a bit...

We went off on our own to Stone Island @ Maz, and hung out & ate at Molokay's... good food and relaxing inside their space - lots of touts (vendors) just outside selling their wares... we spent maybe $20 total, while CCL wanted something like $70pp - although there was some other recreation involved, banana boat or something, but limited menu, while we ordered whatever we wanted... but we just grabbed a couple of loungers under an umbrella, and was waited on well... oh, bring cash if you go this route...

In Cabo we went on the Zodiac Whale Watching tour thru Ocean Rider's (booked in advance)... great time, saw lots of blue whales, but the humpbacks were scarce (lots of traffic that day)... paid about 1/2 what CCL wanted, too...

hope this helps... have fun, whatever you decide on!

we just did this itinerary in september through Royal caribbean. We went to cabo first, but omg the humidity was so so so bad that we hardly could enjoy anything... i mean just sitting we were dripping sweat! but i suppose that is mexico for you! next day we went to mazatlan and i have never been more stunned in my life...it is so beautiful. at first glance it looks like any other mexican town until you step inside Los Sabalos...omg you would die if you go there....it is a beautiful resort off the main shopping strip...pools, bar, buffets, all withing 5 feet from the beach. omg it is stunning! PV was our least favorite stop.... a little dirty and small. we did however go to the krystal resort to get the couple massages. and as mentioned above it is a great deal!! HOWEVER!!! lol again with the humidity and once you get all those oils rubbed into your skin and then try to walk around....you just feel completley dirty. but to each his own, we dont adapt to humidity well!!

Zip lining in Puerto Vallarta! What a trip! Mazatlan Frank for Mazatlan is the way to go. We had a personal tour for the four of us with Frank. We went to the Pacifico brewery... ;) you get quite a few full size samples ;)

Cabo, glass bottom boat and the rest of the day at Cabo Wabo... never know who is going to show up to play with the house band outside (which by the way are AWESOME!

We did this itin on the Norwegian Star this past Oct. Of the three ports, we loved Mazatlan the most. We did our own thing and took the small boats over to Stone Island. We hung out at Victor's and enjoyed the day at the beach. Randi's horses are great if you are looking for that. For the whole day, we spent about $60 for our boat ride over/back, our food, drinks and an hour's rental of 4x4. It was much more for the NCL excursion.

Cabo was extremely hot! and crowded. PV was alright, but you had to take a taxi to get to the downtown area; I like having the ship close by so that you can come & go as you please. At PV, I enjoyed walking along the Malecon and seeing the sculpures.

In PV we did Las Calatas. It was nice, but over priced IMHO.

I second Mazatlan Frank's Tour. We booked with him last March and it was truely the highlight of our cruise. He took us to a very small quante mexican village. Showed us how they make sandals and saddles. Walked around the town, saw the church and the school. Then he took us to a Tequilla Factory. Toured around there. Did lunch. He took us to shop a bit, took us thru El Cid. Went downtown and saw the Catherdral. Little more shopping. Then saw the cliff divers.

Frank was AWESOME and run the tour to do and see everything you wanted to see.

In Cabo we just hired a water taxi and saw lovers beach, had a few beers on the beach, did lunch, and hit the Cabo Wabo.

Sounds like Mazatlan Frank is the man. Pretty much a concensous...

You bet! We toured with Frank last April and it was the highlight of our trip! He also knows tour guides in Puerta Vallarta if you ask him. We'd use Frank again in a heartbeat!

Enjoy!

if you can afford it you can take great tours of your choice. If you are on a budget.

PV - taxi ($3/person) (or bus) south to old town river bridge, walk around river shopping, then head south along the beach area, ending up near the concrete pier for drink and food specials.

Mazatlan - stone island ferry, (or grab an open air cab for an hour tour around, then stone island ferry)

Cabo, walk up to the outrageous hotel Finnestera views, walk around the marina, see cabo wabo, continue around the marina to the beach near Billigans

PV was our favorite port. We started the morning with a zipline adventure through Vallarta Adventure. Then took a cab downtown where we found a great art gallery with interesting works of art, including Day of the Dead works, then walked until we found a restaurant/bar with fabuous food and tequila tastings. Grabbed a taxi back to the port just in time to take a Rhythms of the Night excursion to Las Caletas. It was a fabulous day - a perfect mixture of adventure, scenery, food, drinks, art, excitement and relaxation.

Cabo: took a water taxi to Medano beach were we first went parasailing and then grabbed beachside chairs at a restaurant serving good seafood and drinks. People watching alone was worth the price of the meal. Afterwards, we walked back towards port stopping at several shops and drinking establishments along the way. A great day was had by all.

Mazatlan: Randi's Happy Horses on Stone Island, lunch at Victor's and then back in Maz a cab to the shopsin the "golden zone." The afternoon in Mazatlan was our least favorite time- the stores seemed a bit run down, cookie cutter and uninspired. Next time we go, we will try to book Mazatlan Frank.
