Chelly Posted January 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2009 I understand the O is going into dry-dock around early April for about a month. Does anyone know how extensive the renovations will be? One month seems like a short dry dock.
PathfinderEss Posted January 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2009 I'm not sure the Oosterdam is going to be in dry dock for that long, maybe a few weeks, a month seems a little excessive to me, but yes the changes are going to be fairly extensive. They are going to straighten up the back end of the ship. Instead of looking like this \ it is going to look like this |. They will be adding cabins, changing the Crows nest and a few other things. I'm sure there are other ccer's that know more then me but this is what I understood. We we're just on her last week.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2009 On the Starboard side of the Crow's Nest they will be adding the Explorations Cafe and Library and Internet. Down on Deck 2 -- Lower Promenade -- the Windstar Cafe will be replaced with the new Pinnacle Wine Bar.
Chelly Posted January 14, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted January 14, 2009 How about carpeting, drapes, etc? Is decor changed?
oats Posted January 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2009 So I guess we will loss the great aft balconies. I booked a aft corner cabin for Feb I guess this will be my first and last super extra cool balcony on the Oosterdam. Any other Holland ships have aft balconies like this are will we have to go to brand x.
archimedes Posted January 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2009 I think that Oosterdam is in dry dock from 2 April. She arrives in Civitavecchia on 1 April and starts her next cruise from Barcelona on 25 April. The new deck plans are now on the HAL website at http://book.hollandamerica.com/fleet/deckPlan.do?ship=os&deck=uv1&year=next The previous plans are also there to compare.
