Nanct Posted January 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Can someone tell us how far it is from the ship to the airport in Miami . . . and if you have used your own transportation to get there rather than the transfer provided by Oceania? Thanks.
hondorner Posted January 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2009 It's roughly 8 miles, and a taxi cost $24 a year or so ago. It's a pretty straight shot. In fact, for my last cruise out of Miami, we parked at an airport offsite parking lot and took a parking lot shuttle to the port (having dropped off the luggage and most of the family, first), because it was a lot cheaper than parking at the port. All the taxis know where the port is, and as you cross the bridge to the island where the port is located, all the ships are visible -- it's hard to get lost. Sharicruz Posted January 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Can someone tell us how far it is from the ship to the airport in Miami . . . and if you have used your own transportation to get there rather than the transfer provided by Oceania? Thanks. It is about 8 miles from the port to the airport. It is very easy to take a Taxi. Last time I was there it was about $24.00. Rare DOJO466 Posted January 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Take the Taxi NOT cruise transport (which is WAY expensive)
birders Posted January 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Previous posters are correct. Two days ago we easily got a taxi after disembarking Regatta. It is a standard flat fee to the airport from the seaport. $24. Using the ship transfer is throwing your money away!
Rickey 88 Posted January 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Since we were told that getting a taxi could be a "zoo" and since we had four bags to deal with, we pre-ordered a limo at Miami. It was there on time, they loaded the bags and we were off. It was about 9:30 when we left the port and we were at the airport before 10. The driver unloaded the bags, found an airport porter for us, and away he went. The cost was $75 and considering the ease of the whole process, I thought it was worth it.....
