buying alcohol in fort lauderdale

We will be arriving about 7pm on a Sat evening for a Sunday am cruise and would like to pick up some alcohol before we board. Does anyone know of a close package store to the airport or the Springhill Suites airport/cruiseport hotel?

I am from Virginia so when I see package store, I know what you mean. The liquor laws are a little different in Florida and not sold in state run stores.

 

The closest large liquor store en route from the cruise port to the airport is Crown Liquors located on the corner of SE 17th St and Cordova Road. If you leave the cruise port by the Eisenhauer Blvd. exit and take a left on 17th Street, it will be 1 stoplight down and on the right hand side, west side of Cordova Road with bright red letters, trust me, the cabbies know where it is. You leave there and continue west on SE 17th St and turn South on Federal Hwy US1. It's just a hop skip and a jump from there to the airport.
