Rare Radio Posted January 23, 2009 Author #126 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Here are the last few, of KSC, Canaveral Locks, and Port Canaveral. I will post more Majesty pics tomorrow. Thank for all of the nice comments and thanks for tuning in. . . Radio APOLLO 11 Gantry and Capsule Canaveral Locks ( From the Port Canaveral website: "In 1965, the Canaveral Lock which connects Port Canaveral to the Banana River was dedicated. It is the largest navigation lock in Florida, designed to allow passage of the huge Saturn rockets – boosters for the moon-bound Apollo program. For the past 30 years, the shuttle’s solid rocket boosters, retrieved at sea, have been returned to the Space Center for reuse via Port Canaveral." ) There were no boats coming through the locks today. . . A big Pelican gets ready to grab a fish. . . Norwegian Majesty as viewed from the top of the Terminal 10 parking garage (The Terminal is way of the ship. . . Rare rxlowry Posted January 23, 2009 #127 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Hi Radio, Thanks for helping us relive some memories of one of our favorite ships! We sailed on her 3 times last year and will sail 2 more times this year, including her last NCL sailing in October. I was wondering who the entertainer(s) are in the Royal Fireworks. When we sailed last year we enjoyed Crimson Sky.

Oh yeah I can see that video from June on the Norwegian Majesty. Yes, I am able to use my GPS just by setting it on the window sill. . . It is very easy to find our exact location, and speed. I am happy that the Majesty Video worked for you. . . I want to go back to Bermuda soon. . .Maybe Majesty, or Grandeur of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, but NCL Dawn or Spirit may by the best idea.:) Thanks for the nice comments ! Rare Radio Posted January 23, 2009 Author #130 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Hello everyone. . . Today is the last day of the cruise. The Freestyle Daily is packed with activities from morning to night. (I will post the dailies when I return) The Debarkation talk is this morning, and the Slots, Texas Hold ’Em and Blackjack Tournament are being held this morning. The Crew Show is this afternoon, and the Farewell variety Show is this evening. The Chocaholic Buffet was last night, but I missed it. I had a great dinner at Le Bistro. The food has been very good in all of the dining areas, but I recommend going to Le Bistro at least once. The food there is the best, and it is only $15. PP. The service at Le Bistro is superb, and if you go there once, you may want to dine there daily (several passengers did). Our weather is still a little chilly, but the sun should warm us up throughout the day. Here are a few pics. . . More pics later ! Radio :rolleyes: Port Canaveral Terminal 10, just before Sail Away Four Seasons Dining Room Le Bistro (set up for breakfast this morning) . Also, where did you park your car in Charleston and if you don't mind how much was it for the week? Thanks!!!

DeltaOne Posted January 23, 2009 #135 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Radio, great job (as always) on the Live thread. Someone on the Princess forum is doing a Live thread on a 107 day World Cruise. It began a few days ago, they're still in week #1. The cruise isn't over until sometime in May. So far they haven't posted pictures like you do, but it's still interesting. *Wink* Posted January 23, 2009 #137 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Radio, I've read this entire thread, and don't recall your cabin area. I'm assuming you're in a suite since you're able to eat at LeBistro for lunch. Did I miss it, or are you choosing not to divulge. :)

Rare Radio Posted January 24, 2009 Author #144 Share Posted January 24, 2009 We are only about 50nm from Charleston, but we are sailing very slow. We are scheduled to pick up the pilot by 530AM. The ocean water is very calm. I will be driving home tomorrow, so I am in no hurry to get off the ship. I am sure many people must get off quick, so I will hang out and take advantage of Freestyle Debarkation ! More pics tomorrow ! Thanks for tuning in. . . . an1864girl Posted January 24, 2009 #145 Share Posted January 24, 2009 You sold us on Kennedy Space Center - What rental car Companys have shuttles to come and get you from the port? It definitly seems that is the way to go. Also, where did you park your car in Charleston and if you don't mind how much was it for the week? Thanks!!! We're sailing on Majesty from Charleston on the 2/7. In Port Canaveral we rented a car from Thrifty for $33.45 for the day. You simply call them at (321) 783-2600 when you arrive in port and they come to pick you up and then their shuttle will return you to port at the end of the day. For parking....we are staying at the Airport Radisson in Charleston. They have a Cruise Package. For $134 we stay Friday night, get to park our car for the week, transportation to the port and pick up from the port on return, and a full breakfast Saturday morning prior to sailing. My "justification" to DH...since parking at the port is $105, we basically get a night at the Radisson (on a Sleep Number bed) and a full breakfast for $29....I'm not sure that he bought it, but I'm looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning instead of driving in from Raleigh and having to get on the road at 6am. Rare Radio Posted January 24, 2009 Author #146 Share Posted January 24, 2009 Hello everyone. . . We arrived into port by 7AM, and were tied up by 7:30AM. The first call for Express debarkation should be about 8:30. I should be off by around 10AM, and I hace a 10 hr drive to Maryland. I had a great cruise, and I will be sorry to see the Majesty leave the fleet, later this year. The service on board Majesty may be the best I have expierienced. The weather was a little cool, but I still had a great time ! The best employees on the ship (In my view) would be: Orlando Fisher / Sr Stateroom Steward Florentina Popa / Concierge Brian Walters / Hotel Director I will be posting additional photos to this thread over the next 2 weeks. There are some good pics that may have missed the thread (due to quick editing and wireless connections) Here are some pics of our arrival. . . Thanks for all of the nice comments, and thanks for tuning in. Radio :rolleyes: We are getting close to the Charleston Cruise Terminal We have arrived, and have been tied up to the dock Here is the Terminal Area I took this photo when I boarded last week. . . . Kwynot Posted January 24, 2009 #150 Share Posted January 24, 2009 Radio - I've been watching your posts all week & enjoyed every one of them. Thank you for taking the time to do this work. It makes one feel like we're with you on board. And since I was on this itinerary back in December (on the Gem from NYC) it was nice to see all the sites again. Welcome back!
