Sally Forth Posted January 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Which cruise line are you with? We were on NCL and it wasn't on their excursions and I couldn't find a private tour to take us. Viv
paulgduck Posted March 31, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2009 We just got back from the NCL Spirit. We took a cab ride to the brewery from the port ($20 for a 30 minute rider). The brewery tour is $15 each. We just showed up, had a private tour (took about 25 minutes), and then we were lead to their bar, very nice, and we could sample all the beer we wanted for 40 minutes. Started with their Lighthouse light, then the regular Belikin, then the special brew, followed by the stout and finally Guiness, which they brew under licence. Finished it off with another special brew. The people were very friendly and informative. Definitly recommended. As for the cruise ships, the guy who owns Belikin doesn't need the money, and refuses to offer kickbacks to the cruise companies, so they don't offer the trip. At least that's what we were told. Litehouse9 Posted March 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2009 Hi. 4 years ago, NCL DID offer a "Beer and the City" tour. The guide was excellent.. too bad they no longer offer this. The brewery is clean, fun and great. The tasting room is great, and we had all the beer and all the shrimp we could eat for 60 minutes.. clean, sterile, wonderful. Belize supplies shrimp to "Red Lobster" restaurants, and they make sure to have a safe product. If you are interested, I would recommend going to the Brewery. It was a nice, fun tour. And a good place to buy your Belliken hats, shirts, mugs, etc. Sher in Seattle
paulgduck Posted April 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2009 We were not offered food in the brewery, but then again there was only a few of us, and we turned up un-announced. The NCL tour you mentioned sounds pretty good. I think some of the vendors at the port do still offer this trip.
Rare Clay Clayton Posted October 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2010 Was the taxi $20 each way or round trip? Anyone know the hours of the brewery? Their website is less than helpful:eek:
