cruise junky joan Posted January 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Princess does something called the ultimate balcony breakfast, where a multi course brunch is brought to your room and served with linens etc. on your balcony. We enjoyed this immensely in Alaska, yes it was too cold to use the balcony but the room did just fine. Anyway does holland America offer the same type of thing? I can't recall whether we chose from a selection of items or if it was pre fix but I would love to do this on our Med. cruise.

hammybee Posted January 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Here is a link to an old thread about the Ultimate breakfasts/dinners on Princess. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=265714&highlight=ultimate It reports the cost of breakfast is $25 p/p and dinner is $100. per couple. On HAL, Room Service is complimentary and usually well done. It is not however, on the scale of " the ultimate" given there is no surcharge. m steve Posted January 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2009 on HAL unlike Princess where you are only offered a continental. Just order everything you might want except the quiche (it always comes cold anyway) and order a bottle of champagne and you have about the same thing and you are sailing in a bigger cabin. hammybee Posted January 18, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2009 You are also to bring onboard your own champagne for in cabin consumption. So if you are inclined to start ( or for that matter conclude) your day with the bubbly, you can do so without incurring any incremental charges.
