Is March 13th. to late?

We booked a cruise from Valparasio to Buenos Aires departing on Jan. 4th. After boarding the ship but before it left the dock we were notified that my Mother had passed away that morning.

We would still like to make this trip but the only cruise we will be able to go on leaves March 13th. Is that to late in the season to see the wildlife and scenery? Would it be better to just try and plan in for next January?
