Family Bathrobe Night?

I am sailing Victory in July. I've been looking at the capers from a recent sailing and noticed that the night we are in Antigua is Family Bathrobe Night and there is a Pajama Party on deck.

Does this mean that people will be wearing their pajamas/robes to dinner?

Yes, some people actually do wear their bathrobes to dinner.

On our cruise on the miracle out of nyc and the valor in miami, we saw people doing this.

Miracle in 07 and valor in 08.

Remember, Carnival is the fun ship :D

There plenty of people in their bathrobes on our 11-30-08 / 12-7-08 Victory cruise. They were at the show, casino, on deck, I even found one lady wearing a robe in my room. Turns out she was wy wife.

LOL!! Thats great. ;)

Thanks for responding. I'm off to You Tube. :p

Always a lot of fun, there are several videos on youtube.

The use to call it Beer and Bathrobe Party. It just depends on the CD, if its done on a given ship.

Most people just wear the bathrobe over their clothing.

C'mon now ... everyone knows it's White Russians and bathrobes. The Dude abides.

I'm glad it was her otherwise it probably would have been the cruise you continued to pay for long after it was over!!!!!

I'm glad that we've never had a "Bathrobe" Party on any of our Carnival cruises.

Carnival ships may be the "Fun Ships", but having dinner with people in their bathrobes, or just seeing people walking around the ship in their bathrobes, borders on tacky and tasteless.

Sorry for those who do like to wear their bathrobes around the ship. Just my opinion.

Well at least it's for bathrobes and not Lingerie.

I agree with you on just walking around the ship or at dinner in bathrobes. But as a theme party it's kind of fun. They did this for the deck party on our first cruise on the Miracle in 2006. Not permitted at dinner, but the deck party kicked off at 10pm or so and was a "bathrobes and beer" theme. It was specifically requested that clothing or swimsuits remain on underneath. It's just a fun way to get people involved. It was part of the whole "fun ship" vibe to be up on Lido dancing with everyone in their white robes!

I had a crappy camera when I took this that didn't handle night shots well but this should give everyone the idea...

Tapi - I had enjoyed your excellent Liberty video earlier - but your sig line has me confused since you could not have been over 2 yrs old on your first cruise if that is you in the video!

The youtube videos make the robe parties look like a lot of fun, I hope we get one! Anything that encourages folks (like me . . . ) to relax and have fun is a good thing, I think.

Thanks Stephen for the comment about the Liberty video!

I was actually a bit older than 2 on my first cruise. I was 7. Here's a picture from the Cunard Countess in 1982 (my second cruise). I'm on the left. Your observation must mean that I look a bit younger than I actually am, so thank you for that too! :)

I should've been more specific about what I wrote, and YES, I agree with you 100%! :) As a theme party, I would be all for it! I acutally remember the Roman Bachannal (nice name for a full blown Toga Party) aboard Costa which was a total blast.

It was a fun deck party! And I completely agree with you on the whole wandering the ship, going to dinner, etc. - there's a place and a time for everything! For some reason on our Glory cruise a few weeks ago I kept seeing people in their bathrobes at all hours of the day and night wandering the ship - eating breakfast on Lido, standing in line at the coffe shop on Promenade, even watching sailaway from St. Maarten. I figured the people next to us on the Celebrity Solstice were just being given one more reason to think Carnival is low class. I mean, come on, how hard is it to throw on shorts and a tee-shirt for those things?
