Occidental Grand Day Pass

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever done or been to the Occidental Grand Resort in Cozumel. I checked out a lot of places with day passes, and I do like the option of having a pool to swim in as well as a beautiful beach. Many of the pools at Mr Sanchos and those other all inclusives are real small. If anyone has had any good or bad experiences with Occidental Grand please let me know ??? :p

We stayed at the Occidental Grand a few years ago. There are actually 2 pools - the main activity pool near the beach and a quiet, more shady pool further away. The grill is right there near the beach and main pool. They served the most awesome grilled fish and my husband loved the fajitas. There is also a buffet restaurant that is open for lunch. We had a good experience there and I'll be glad to answer any questions but hopefully you'll hear from someone who has been there more recently.

Thank you for getting to me, it's greatly appreciated. I just wanted to get a feel for the place. So far on all the reviews I read on Trip Advisor it sounds great. I was just curious why I never read any cruisecritic people talk about Day passes there. Thank you again !

I am also considering a day pass at the Occidental Grand. I have been trying to find out more info from CC posts, but haven't seen much. Any idea what it costs? I am trying to find out if I can purchase in advance. Just wondering why this resort isn't mentioned more in any discussion thread. Have you found any more info on this place?

I think most people just stick with the more poplar beach clubs in Cozumel or they rent vehicles and tour on there own. Also the hotels do not really advertise for cruise passengers. The little info I have found on them only allow a few cruise Passengers per day. You would probably have to contact the Hotel itself to get a price for day pass if they offer it.

Hi ! Yes I did speak with them and its $50 per person which includes all food, drinks and nonmotorized activities. I figured its the same price as a lot of other more popular all inclusives but this is a lot nicer. You can't pre-book I want to say but contact the hotel. We are just buying them the day of, I think they said. I hope this helps, all I have read is just wonderful things about it !

I spent a week at this hotel a few years ago. It's a very nice hotel with nice grounds and pool, but the beach is just a thin strip of sand. There's just enough beach to have a chaise lounge - head to toe- and a couple of feet between the chair and the water for people walking the beach. The beach is slanted so your chair is on an incline. This may bother some people, but maybe not? That's probably why they limit the day trippers, since there wouldn't be enough room at the beach.
