Eddie4Paws Posted November 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2004 Does anyone know when Princess sets up the holiday decorations on the ships? I'm travelling from Dec 2 through the 12th. I know that Channukah is during that time. Do they do anything for Channukah? I'd also love to see their Christmas decorations.

dcourt Posted November 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2004 Will they start decorating while your in the middle of your cruise or do they wait until you get back to your home port? We are traveling on the Dawn and leave 11/23 and Thanksgiving is 11/25 and we don't return until December 3. Will they decorate while we are cruising? CruisinChris Posted November 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2004 I did back-to-backs on the Dawn last December (before Christmas) and observed that they had hired a contractor to come in and do major decorating on the turnaround days. It was quite beautiful. A few years back, we sailed on the Grand before Thanksgiving and toward the end of that cruise they were decorating (so it was decorated for T-giving). We sailed the Crown over T-giving to hawaii and I seem to think that we didn't see any Christmas decorations that cruise. So, it must vary. They have special services during Chanukkah, led by a passenger.
livsea2 Posted November 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 16, 2004 They decorated The Island Princess last year on the turn around day weekend before Thanksgiving. They do a nice job of holiday decorations.
Rare Coral Posted November 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2004 On the Golden last year, they were decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving - the day we were getting off of our Thanksgiving cruise.
