kitkat9438 Posted December 27, 2010 #1127 Share Posted December 27, 2010 Deck - 11 Cabin # - 1606 Class – Aqua Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) –Bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet cabin. Others have noted hearing noise from this cabin, but I'm a very light sleeper and had no issues at all. If you step into the hallway you can hear a noise coming from a door across the hall that sounds like a vacuum but it doesn't affect you inside the cabin. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great view when you step to the railing. You can see forward, back and down. This is a deep balcony so you can get sun near the railing or shade if you sit back toward the balcony door. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, one of the largest on the hump. Was wind a problem? No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No Any specific problems with this cabin? No Any other comments? Great cabin!!! NnJ2010 Posted December 28, 2010 #1130 Share Posted December 28, 2010 Equinox Deck - 12 Cabin # - 2108 Class – Concierge Class Starboard or Port Side - starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) –Very quiet - there is a service area for room stewards right outside. Only on the last night when I didn't have clothes in the closet (I think they dampened the sound) could I hear a washing machine inside that room. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – View out straight or back. couldn't really see to the front since we were on the back side of a bump but larger than normal balcony. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? oversized Was wind a problem? No - Full coverage even when it rained we stayed dry on the balcony. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? na Any specific problems with this cabin? Nope, enjoyed the convenience of the location of this cabin and the larger balcony. Any other comments? Great room. Would not hesitate to recommend and to book again (if the price for concierge were right - the 'perks' for concierge to me aren't enough to spend on if the price isn't right but the location of the room might be enough to persuade me to spend more!) Melianne Posted December 30, 2010 #1133 Share Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) Ship: Solstice Cabin No: 1581 Deck: 11 Class: Aqua Class Location: Port side Bed location: Near balcony Quiet cabin except for: 1) Latin dance one night on the pool deck; music could be heard until 12Mid. Not a problem for us; 2) Occasional moving of chairs on the pool deck, but very limited. Would book this cabin again; 3) slight creaking in very rough seas, otherwise very quiet. Balcony View: Unobstructed Balcony Size: Normal Wind: Not a problem Soot: N/A Noise: See above Any other comments: if you want to be very close to the Aqua Spa, this cabin is not for you. Also this cabin is located on the "odd" (port) numbered side of the ship, and to reach the Aqua Spa area you have to cross over to the "even" side of the ship. HOWEVER someone in the Aqua Spa showed us a door at the end of the "odd" (port) numbered hallway marked "CREW" that opens directly into the reception area of the Relaxation Room/treatment hall. Nifty trick! She told use we could use the door whenever we wanted. Edited December 30, 2010 by Melianne

Goldfishes Posted January 3, 2011 #1135 Share Posted January 3, 2011 If you have stayed in one of the Celebrity Suites on the Penthouse Deck, please let us know what your thoughts are regarding the suite especially if there was any noise issues with the Resort Deck above the Penthouse Deck. Thanks for your response.:D Kruz Guys Stephen and Tom Hi Kruz Guys, We had Celeb Suite 1622 on the Penthouse deck (Eclipse, Canaries, October 2010). We loved it -masses of space - the biggest TV ever in the living area and another in the bedroom - which has a proper door to close off from the living area - useful for us as we were travelling with our 14 year old daughter. Decent walk-in closet, separate chair, and generally just much more 'walking around space'. I don't think the bathroom was any bigger than others with the exception of probably the Penthouse Suite. But there are two doors to it. If you are Elite Captain Club members, you'll know about the perks but they come with the Celeb Suite regardless. In addition, make use of the free speciality restaurant bookings - you get 2 for an 8 night cruise or longer. You can also have breakfast in Blu at no charge. It was a nice touch to have afternoon tea delivered at 4.00pm by your butler. The balcony had one really comfy rattan lounger plus side table and teak topped main table and 2 chairs - it's about twice the size of the standard balconies. As for noise, we experienced none - either in the corridor itself or anything drifting down from resort deck. Book it and enjoy! bamakeith Posted January 9, 2011 #1139 Share Posted January 9, 2011 Eclipse Cabin #9374 Deck - 9 Cabin # - 9374 Class – S1 (Corner Aft Sky Suite) Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Extremely quiet. Balcony View - Expansive (almost 270 degrees) vista wrapping around from the side of the ship and around the stern, with beautiful views of the ship's wake. Balcony Size? Extra large. Was wind a problem? Never. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No. Balcony railing and glass panes would buildup sea salt grime, but never found any black soot. Any specific problems with this cabin? No. Any other comments? Longest elevator-to-cabin walk on the entire ship, AFAIK. May consider avoiding if you have any major mobility issues. Also if you are sitting on the balcony, sometimes you could hear the water running from the flushing of the toilets every so often above as the room is directly under the ladies bathroom. Given the proximity of the buffet and the cover of the balcony, the noise is tollerable. All in all, I would still recommend the room and would book the room for myself again. There is a white overhang of sorts that is about 2' + wide. Not a huge problem. You could hear the music from the theater below which we only heard on the last day, but if you are napping or going to bed early - it could be a problem. Overall - great room.
