Transatlantic - Port or Starboard

If you have been from NYC to the Mediterranean in April or May, please let me know which side is LESS breezy. My husband is thinking that because of the Gulf Stream pattern the wind will be behind us and it won't matter. But I'm thinking there is usually a windier side and I don't want to be on it.

Wow - great information. Looks like my husband was right. I knew all those years of National Geographic and the Weather Channel would pay off! I think we will stay on the port side.
